About the Sport Combined sport of surfing, skateboarding, and skiing




There are 6 different types of snowboarding

slalom, parallel slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom, snowboard cross, and half pipe

slalom is similar to downhill race in skiing

half pipe is an event that is like freestyle skiing, you do jumps, flips, and more

each year, a large amount of people start to snowboard for the very first time

it is a very popular sport around the world Snowboarding Snowboarding was invented in 1963 by Tom Sims




The first snowboard was made out of plywood

He was in eighth grade and he did it in shop class

Its first original name was ski board

First official snowboard competition: 1980

Snowboarding joined the Winter olympic Games in 1998

It has now become a popular sport around the world History ANDERSON, Jasey Jay won gold in men’s parallel RICKER, Maelle won gold in women's cross ATHLETES ROBERTSON, Mike won silver in men's cross How snowboarding is played Slalom and downhill slalom is similar to downhill race in skiing

snowboard cross is a race where 4 snowboarders race down a hill, the goal is to get to the finish line
