The Universe What types of galaxies are there There are three types of galaxies we know so far. These galaxies are.... An irregular galaxy is a galaxy that does not have a distinct regular shape, unlike a spiral or an elliptical galaxy. The shape of an irregular galaxy is uncommon Irregular Galaxy Spiral Galaxy An elliptical galaxy is a galaxy having an approximately ellipsoidal shape and a smooth, nearly featureless brightness profile. They range in shape from nearly spherical to highly flat and in size from tens of millions to over one trillion stars.Stars found inside of elliptical galaxies are very much older than stars found in spiral galaxies. Elliptical Galaxy Spiral galaxies consist of a flat, rotating disk containing stars, gas and dust, and a central concentration of stars. How many Galaxies are there in the universe? There's no exact number of how many galaxies exist in the universe. As Astronomers estimate that the observable universe contains anywhere between 100 and 300 billion galaxies. There are millions of galaxies that we can observe from Earth, but there are millions more that we cannot observe. So overall there may be billions of galaxies in the universe. What galaxies made of? Galaxies are composed of dust and gas, which can form together and ignite, turning into stars, and maybe even new solar systems.Galaxies are also made of dark matter which in a way helps galaxies form themselves.Apart from dark matter galaxies also have anti-matter which scientist believe came from the big bang explosion. Also Galaxies are made of black holes which can be located in the center of the galaxy or scattered around the galaxy. What type of galaxy do we live in? Our galaxy (also know as the Milky Way) is a Spiral Galaxy Our Sun is at the edge of a spiral arm called the Orion Arm, and is about two-thirds of the way from the center of our galaxy to the edge of the starlight Where in our galaxy is the Sun? How many planets are in our Solar System? Created by Aaron Luna List each planet beginning from the closest to the sun There are a total of 8 planets in our SOLAR SYSTEM and there order from closest to farthest from the Sun is..... Sun (Star) Mercury The First Planet Venus The Second Planet Earth The Third Planet Mars The Fourth Planet Jupiter The Fifth Planet Saturn The Sixth Planet Uranus The Seventh Planet Neptune The Eight Planet Gas Giants What shape does each of these galaxies have? Inner Planets There are a total of eight Planets in our Solar systems. These are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These are the official planets of our solar system.Pluto is not considered a planet as it is a dwarf planet. The spiral galaxy as the name suggests it has a spiral shape. For Elliptical Galaxy its shape is like a flat disc.Last for the Irregular Galaxy it does not have a exact shape Where in our galaxy is Earth Found Due to the fact that the sun is found in between of the Orion and Sagittarius Arms, Earth is located three planets down from the sun.
