There is no known treatment. However, there are special contact lenses and glasses that may help people with color blindness tell the difference between similar colors
Most color vision problems are inherited (genetic) and are present at birth.People usually have three types of cone cells in the eye. Each type senses either red, green, or blue light. You see color when your cone cells sense different amounts of these three basic colors
You may be able to see some colors but not others. For instance, you may not be able to tell the difference between red and green but can see blue and yellow.
You may see many colors, so you may not know that you see color differently from others.
You may only be able to see a few shades of color, while most people can see thousands of colors
The people who are colorblind may not be able to get a job that requires the ability to see colors accurately. For example, electricians (color-coded wires), painters, fashion designers (fabrics), and cooks (using the color of meat to tell whether it's done) need to be able to see colors accurately.
Most Common Color blindness is Red-Green Color blindness. Blue-Yellow is the other common color blindness. Least common is total color blindness.
What is Color Blindness
Color blindness is the inability to differentiate certain colors. It comes in various flavours with the most common being red green color blindness. There are multiple causes, but color blindness is primarily inherited by way of a mutated X Chromosome.
The most common way to test for color blindness is known as the Ishihara Color Test. Dr Shinobu Ishihara, a University of Tokyo professor, created a series of plates to be used to identify red green color blindness.
