Oceans by Hillsong United
The Interpretation
The song takes the story of Peter and relates it to our struggles. Peter momentarily lost his faith and God saved him in his moment of weakness
The song takes a story we all know and relates to our lives on a deeper level. It takes a childhood story, and makes us see how it still relates to us as we grow older

The song is calming, which is exactly the kind of mood that we need to be in when we are struggling and need peace. They made the message clear and did it beautifully.
Matthew 14:26-31
26When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified and said, 'It's a ghost!' They were so frightened that they screamed. 27Just then Jesus spoke to them, 'Be encouraged! It's me. Don't be afraid.' 28Peter replied, 'Lord, if it's you, order me to come to you on the water." 29And Jesus said, 'Come.' Then Peter got out of the boat and was walking on the water toward Jesus. 30But when Peter saw the strong wind, he became frightened. As he began to sink, he shouted, 'Lord rescue me!' 31Jesus immediately reached lout and grabbed him, saying, 'You man of weak faith! Why did you begin to have doubts?'

"And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine"
"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior"
"Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me"
The song seems to emphasize a kind of mood from Jesus' reaction that may not be completely accurate. It points out all the feel good parts only.

The songs says "my faith will stand", but in the story, Peter's faith wavered. This is an encouragement to keep the faith strong and not doubt, but when directly linked back to the song, it's not accurate.
