Work long hours at the beginning of their career
Anywhere from 9-12 hours a day
45-60 hours a week
Sometimes schedules can be very irregular
Sometimes the shifts are extended so that they can fit in all of their patients in
Pediatric residents who have less experience than fully qualified pediatricians make between $42, 00- $65,00 a year
Newly certified pediatricians earn around $100,000 until they gain more experience
Those who have large successful practices or have senior positions in large hospitals can make over $300,000 a year
Some who work in hospitals and other medical organizations can receive benefits; health and life insurance, pension plans and paid vacations
Work an average of 50 hours a week
The word pediatrics means healer of children
First children’s hospital was built in 1802 by the French
Takes about 11 years to become a pediatrician
They will usually keep a patient until they are 21 years old
Most Pediatricians love their job :)
