My #edcmooc digital artefact
Transcript of My #edcmooc digital artefact
MOOC musings Digital "pertaining to fingers" from Latin digitalis Artefact (artifact) 1. any object made by human beings, especially
with a view to subsequent use
5. a spurious observation or result arising from
preparatory or investigative procedures e-learning e-mokymas (Lithuanian)
literal translation: e-teaching
Does it matter whether it is called
"e-learning" or "e-teaching"?
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet. Digit 3. any of the Arabic figures of 1 through 9 and 0 http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/digital?s=t "anything made by human art"
from Latin arte "by skill"+ factum "thing made" http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/artefact?s=t William Shakespear "Romeo and Juliet" Mokyti (Lithuanian): to teach
Mokytis (Lithuanian): to learn
Therefore, in my language, "to learn" means
"to teach oneself"
Does it imply that for my culture,
teaching and learning are closely connected? I don't claim to have the skill (this is my first Prezi)
But still, there is a "thing made", since you are viewing it :) Utopia literally:
ou not +
topos a place http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/utopia?s=t Thomas More "Utopia" (1516)
Have you read it?
I haven't. But would like to... someday... DIGITAL CULTURES
So many different venues for #edcmooc"... From #edcmooc course info:
Workload: 3-5 hours/week I enrolled in this course believing that would be my workload.
My schedule simply didn't allow for more hours. I ended up spending probably at least 8 hours a week on this course:
3+5, not 3-5 : the "minus" sign suddenly turned into "plus" :) Where did these extra hours come from?
Sleeping less (6h a night instead of 7-8h)
Putting most of my leisure activities aside
Reading #edcmooc materials instead of fiction
Watching #edcmooc videos instead of movies What was YOUR #edcmooc workload?
How much time did you spend on creating your artefact? WHY? because #edcmooc was (is?)

LEFT BLANK Nowadays the “This Page Intentionally Left Blank”-Project (TPILB-Project) tries to introduce these blank pages to the Web again. One reason is to keep alive the remembrance of these famous historical blank pages. But it is the primary reason to offer internet wanderers a place of quietness and simplicity on the overcrowded World Wide Web—a blank page for relaxing the restless mind. http://www.this-page-intentionally-left-blank.org/whythat.html Blogs My blog
