Electrostatics involves the build up of charge on the surface of the object due to contact with other surfaces.
WHY
so Important ?

It can be very damaging to electronic devices which are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (
ESD
)
What causes
ESD
?
Two object coming together by rubbing or moving against each other.
Hair stand after rubbing with a balloon
It is important aspect of Guarding against
ESDS
is to create a static-safe work area.
Personal precaution

Clothing
ESDS
Workstation
Table and floor area are covered by static dissipative surface. All Static dissipative surface and the workstation must be connected to a common ground.
(
ESD
) workstation
- Ground yourself before handling static-sensitive components
- During storage or transportation, ESDS devices should be contained in a static protective bag or container at all times.

on preventive measures important
Here are some equipment you can use to protects
ESDS
devices or components.
Always check that you are safely grounded before touching the component.
Humidity
is another important factor.
WHY
?
Dry environment generates high static charges
Humid environment generates lower static charges
Best choice for an assembly area and for a storage area is
Humidity between 40% to 60%
on each and every component.

ESD Protective Symbol
ESD Common Point Ground Symbol
This 2 Symbol had the same meaning
Handle with appropriate

protections.
Applied on
ESD
approved safe items.

Example:
chairs, mat, wrist-strap, garment, automated handle, foot wear, etc.
Accepts all
ESD
elements and connected these points to earth ground.
This labels should be readable from three feet away
Do a safety check on your surrounding.
Static Control Test Station
Static Control
Test Station
Used to determine whether antistatic wrist-straps or antistatic shoes are working properly
Prevent from any Electrostatic charges
Remove electrical power when removing or installing the ESDS.
Procedure
Always follow the
Identify ESDS devices
Disc = Disconnect
Gp = Ground point
Chgr = Charge
EP = External Power
Sys = System
Xfr = Transformer
