Elijah W. Bacon
By Chloe
Elijah W. Bacon received the Medal Of Honor, because of bravely capturing the flag of 16th North Carolina regiment. He died while doing this. He was in the American Civil War , Battle of Gettysburg and the Battle of the Wilderness. His attributes are valor, allegiance, ambition , integrity and dependability. I admire him for his characteristics because not only did he fight for our country numerous times, but he risked his life doing so. That is a great example of what a Medal of Honor recipient is.
Salvatore Giunta
By Chloe
Salvatore Giunta is a Medal Of Honor recipient. He is the first living person since the Vietnam War to receive the Medal of Honor. He fought for us in Afghanistan. Giunta was in combat while him and the other soldiers were attacked by the enemy. An "L" was formed to attack them. On that night Giunta's friends were killed and he had to pull through. He tried to save his injured friends, and he pulled through and stopped the ambush. He as well as other Medal of Honor recipients showed, valor, dependability, integrity and many other attributes. I respect and honor him as a recipient, a soldier, and a person.
