chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) and when
released into the atmosphere the sun breaks
down these gases into atomic chlorine. This
depletes the ozone. When the ozone is disintegrating
it lets sun rays in that are harmful. A few CFC's

of chemicals Any sun ray that finds its way into the atmosphere is considered Ultra Violet or also known as UV. There are three types of UV rays. There is UVA, UVB, and UVC. These are all different levels of exposure.
UVA rays are the worst type. These ultra violet rays cause skin cancer such as melanoma, skin aging, and wrinkling.
UVB rays are the second worst. These rays cause immune system issues, cataracts (clounding of eye lens), and common sunburns.
UVC rays aren't a problem because they dont penetrate the ozone layers. What should you wear to protect yourself from harmful rays?
Wear sunscreen (30-50 SPF). 30 is the lowest a person should apply. This is for regular activities, and skin can breathe and perspire easier.
50 is recommended for high heat and high elevations.
Suncreen repels and absorbs UV rays because of the ingrediants it contains. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the chemicals that help block rays. Solution
The solution to this issue is to reduce
your carbon footprint. By doing this
there will not be as much ozone depleting.
If there is more ozone to protect us, then
therfore there is a less likely chance to
become burned, have skin or immune problems,
and stop you from looking old.
How Can You Reduce
Your Carbon footprint?
-Reduce the use
of wasted electricity
-Turn down water heater
and thermostat by a little
-Don't use as much water
-Run dishwasher full instead
of half full
-Try not to ride in a car as
much so it lowers emmisions
-Dont use product that give off
Sunlight gets into out atmosphere and heats up the gas causing the whole earth to warm up. This is the same thisng as sitting in a hot car. The heat comes in but cannot escape. Bibliography/Resources

It is important to balance an equation so you can tell how reactive it is with other substances. For instance if the nitrous oxide will react with gases in the atmosphere.
