In both processes, they create lighter elements.




Summary Differences
Fusion uses light elements such as hydrogen deuterium and tritium and fission uses heavy elements such as uranium. Fusion fuses atoms together and fission separates an atom to make smaller atoms. Fusion is used by the sun and stars (nature) and fission is manufactured.
