Unit 7. How to Stay Healthy
Fun Time
What will the subject be?
DR. HEALTH
Hello, readers of
Healthy Teen
. Today, we will talk about the daily
routine
of one of our readers, John. He has both
healthy
and
un
healthy
habit
s. Let’s read about his routine and look at his habits, both good and bad.
My Daily Routine
I
usually
get up at 7:30. I
leave for
school at 8:00 so I often have to
skip
breakfast. During the morning, I get hungry and can't
focus on
schoolwork. After school, I enjoy play
ing
soccer with my friends.
At home, I listen to music
through

earphones
while I
do my homework
.

John often
skip
s breakfast. Breakfast, however, is very important.
It gives energy to both your body and brain. If you don’t eat breakfast, your brain doesn’t
receive

enough nutrition
and you get hungry and tired.
As a result
, you can’t
focus on
your schoolwork. Try to get up early and have a good breakfast.
Skip Breakfast

John likes to play sports. What about you?
Regular
exercise is good for your health, and
it
helps you grow. As you exercise, your body produces
growth hormone
. You also get plenty of
sunlight
when you exercise outside. Sunlight is an important
source
of
vitamin
D, and it helps your
bone
s grow big and strong. Be sure to get a lot of exercise outside.
Play Soccer

Like John, many people enjoy listen
ing
to music. However, if you listen to music
through
earphones
for more than an hour, it can
damage
your hearing.
Once
your hearing is damaged, you may not be able to
recover
it. So use speakers when you listen to music. If you have to use earphones, do not play your music
loud
and take a five-minute break every hour.
Listen to Music Through Earphones
DR. HEALTH
Now you know how to stay healthy.
Eat a good breakfast, exercise outside, and listen to music through speakers.
These things are not difficult. But these
simple habits can make a big difference
in your life.
