By Ashlynn Greek gods and goddesses Zeus He was the most powerful god on mount Olympus. He was the god of all gods and goddesses. He ruled over the skies. He could throw thunder bolts when he was angry. His roman name was Jupiter. His symbols are an eagle, lighting bolt, oak tree, and shield. He was strong and very powerful Poseidon Poseidon was the god of the sea. He could dry up lakes and rivers of people he didn't trust. He was the second most powerful god on Olympus. His Roman name was Neptune. His symbols were a trident, horse, and a bull. He was very powerful and strong. Hera Hera was the queen of the gods. She was married to Zeus but was very jealous of his lady friends. Many women worshiped her cause she was known as the protector of marriage. Her roman name was Juno. Her symbols were a peacock and a cow. She was a very jealous and mean. Hades Hades was the god of the underworld and wealth. He rarely went to mount Olympus but when he did no one saw him because he wore a helmet that makes him invisible. His roman name is Pluto. His symbols were a helmet, metals, and jewels. Hades personality was mean and he wasnt very friendly. Ares Ares was the god of war. Not many people like him. Not even his parents. He wasn't really as strong as he seemed. There were time when humans kicked him off the battlefield because they wanted peace not war. His roman name was Mars. His symbol were a Vulture and a dog. He was a very violent and not that nice. Athena Athena is the goddess of wisdom, arts and crafts, war and the city. Athena was born fully grown. She came pout of Zeus head. She was Zeus favorite child. She hated war and always wanted peace. She never lost a battle. She carried a magic shield that turned her enemies to stone. The city Athens was named after her because she planted the first olive tree there. Her symbols were an owl, shield, and olive branch. Her roman name was Minerva. she was a very helpful, peaceful, and loving. Apollo Apollo is the god of healing, music, truth, light and archery. His roman name is Apollo. He is one of the most loved god on mount Olympus. He shoot arrows into any monster that threatened someone he loved or cared about. His symbols are a crow, dolphin, lyre, and laurel. He is very nice, kind, charming, and talented. Artemis Artemis was the goddess of the hunt, children, and the moon. She was Apollos twin sister. She was armed with a silver bow and arrows and chased wild animals. She protected young animals and looked after young children. Her roman name was Diana. Her symbols were a stag, the moon, and cypress. she was a very kind and protective goddess who cared about others. Hermes Hermes is the god of travelers, sleep, dreams, motion, and commerce. He was Zeus messenger. he wore a golden helmet to protect himself from bad whether. He also wore winged sandals to make him be quicker. His roman name was Mercury. His symbols were a wand, winged sandals, and a winged helmet. He was a very quick, clever, and graceful god. Hephaestus Hephaestus was the god of forge. he was the least good looking. His own mother hated him for his lack of good looks. He was the only handicap god. He had a deformed foot. His roman name is Vulcan. His symbols were fire and a blacksmiths hammer. He was very gentle and good natured. Hestia Hestia was the goddess of the hearth. She never disagreed with anyone. She protected homes and families. Every fire in every hearth was Hestia’s fire. Her roman name was Vesta. Her symbol was fire. She was very kind, sweet, gentle, and generous. Aphrodite Aphrodite was the goddess of love and beauty. She came from the sea and appeared on Mount Olympus. Zeus adopted her and made her marry Hephaestus. She wore a magic belt that made other men fall in love with her. Every goddess tried to steal that belt, but none got it. Her Roman name is Venus. Her symbols are a sparrow,dove, swan, and a myrtle. She was a very caring and romantic goddess. Demeter Dionysus Eros Nike Iris Hebe Eos Demeter is the goddess of grain, corn and the harvest. Demeter causes the season because her daughter was taken by Hades and whenever she left Demeter would be sad and the trees and crops would start to die. Her roman name is Ceres. Her symbols are wheat-ears, winged-serpent, and a cornucopia. Demeter was very generous and caring. Persephone Dionysus was the god of wine. His dad is Zeus and his mom is a mortal named Semele. His roman name is Bacchus. His roman name is His symbols were a thyrsos, grape vine, and wine. He was very kind but he was drunk a lot. Eros was the god of love. When Eros shoots someone with his arrows the very next person they see they fall madly in love with. His roman name is cupid. His symbols were a golden bow and golden arrows. Cupid was very kind and loving. Nike is the goddess of victory. Nike is one of the oldest gods but she is never mention in a myth. Her roman name was Victoria. Her symbol was a wreath that was used to crown victors and her wings. She was strong and brave. His roman name is Faunus. His symbols are a goat and the flute. He was a very kind and friendly god. Persephone was the goddess of spring. During winter and fall she lives in the underworld with Hades, but in the spring and summer she lives on earth. Her roman name is Proserpina. Her symbols are a pomegranate, flowers, waterfalls, torch, and a bat. She is a very happy and sad goddess. Helios Helios is the god of the sun. Every day he rides his sun chariot from the east ti the west. His roman name is Sol. His symbol is the sun. He is a very brave and strong god. Hebe is the goddess of youth. She was the cup bearer who served the gods nectar until she married Hercules. Her roman name is Juventas. Her symbol is a cup. She was kind. Eos is goddess of the dawn. She had rosy fingers when she opened the gates of heaven for the sun to rise. Her roman name is Aurora. Her symbols are a dew drop and the sun. She was very honest. Hecate Hecate is the goddess of witchcraft, doorways, and crossroads. She helped Demeter look for Persephone in the night guiding her with torches. Her roman name is Trivia. Her symbols are torches, dogs, and a dagger. Hecate is a very powerful goddess cause she can bless and curse people. Selene Selene is the goddess of the moon. There are two more moon gods too. She was worshiped at the new moons. Her roman name is Luna. Her symbol is the moon. She is a very loving person. Chloris Chloris is the god of spring flowers. She is also the goddess of gardens.
