Officially Removed On September 21, 1999 officially removed Beta from its title. A Project When they were working on a project they discovered many good reviews on the search engine they were using. That search engine was called BackRub. The Young Inventors During 1995, the inventors of Google were graduate students in Computer Science at Stanford University. An Idea After seeing these reviews they started to create Google. They were working out of their dorms borrowing and using cheap and used Pcs. A Buyer The co-founder of Sun Microsystems wrote a check to Google inc. for $100,000. But Google inc. was not a legal entity so Brin and Page had to incorporate and raise $900,000. Upgrades to Google They decided to still keep the product. But decided to upgrade their project, seek more financing and take it to the public themselves. Google
