Transcript of Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis 6CO2+6H2O >C6H12O6+6O2 Formula 6 molecules of carbon dioxide 6 molecules of water to produce 1 glucose 6 molecules of oxygen - Plants need sunlight to produce food Cellular Respiration Takes the food stored away and turns it into energy cells can use. Plant cells have chloroplasts that contain chlorophyll which is green pigment that captures the sunlight. During photosnthesis energy in sunlight is used to make food into the form of sugar glucose form carbon dioxide and water. Shows how light can be seperated to different colors when passed through a triangular prism, the chlorophyll absorbs all colors in light but green because it reflects green light. The plants look green because leaves reflect green and absorb the other colors with the clorophyll in plant cells. This shows how the formula works with plants. Plants take in carbon dioxide, water, and absorb light energy with a result of sugar and releasing oxygen.
