1.) No Child Left Behind (NCLB): grades 3 8 take an annual reading and math test. Schools have 3 years for those students to improve their first scores or they will be provided extra help like tutoring to help them in those subjects 2. American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to: recruiting, preparing, certifying and supporting teachers. Certification a program to inspire career changers to enter teaching 3. National Board For Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) establish standards for what teachers should know and be able to do; assess and certify teachers who meet standards; improving student learning in schools in the United States. 4. Highly Qualified (HQ) teachers certified to teach what they do 5. Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) assess the competencies of prospective teachers according to Florida's Sunshine State Standards 6. Florida Education Leadership Examination (FELE): 3 multiple choice subtests aligned with 10 Principal Leadership Standards 7. Florida Educator Accomplishment Practices (FEAP’s) experiences divided into three sections: Paraprofessional, Professional and Accomplished. Certain Activities:

assessment, communication, continuous improvement, critical thinking, diversity, ethics, human development & learning, knowledge of subject matter, learning environments, planning, role of the teacher, and technology. 8. Professional Education Center (PEC): full service training facility; conference provide 3 to 5 day training sessions; distributed learning courses 9. Educator Preparation Institute (EPI): help teachers become highly qualified in Florida and graduate with bachelor’s degree 10.) International Training program (ITP): helps people develop: speaking, writing, and listening skills in the English language 11.) District Alternative Certification Program (DACP): this research-based Program offering professional education preparation to newly hired teachers with subject area expertise who qualify for an initial Florida Certificate 12) Department of Education (DOE): promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access 13.) Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) Increase the proficiency of all students by providing them with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills through learning opportunities and research.
