Transcript of Bloody Mary

BLOODY MARY I picked this topic because of the unresolved
mystery of the many legends... The avenging spirit goes by many names; some of the most commonly used are "Bloody Mary," "Mary Worth," and "Hell Mary" Summoning Bloody Mary has many different rituals, some of which icludes the repetition of "Bloody Mary!" in the mirror a number of times. The precise requirements of the ritual vary. Some say the mirror must be illuminated by a single flaming candle. Others say water must be running. The number of chants needed to fetch Bloody Mary also vary, but most say somehwere between 3 and 100. What the mirror-witch does to you upon arrival varies, too. She may strike her summoner dead, drive her mad, or fiercly scratch her face. The reaserch into Bloody Mary goes back to 1978, when folklorist Janet Langlois published her essaqy on the legend. Mary is said to be a witch who was executed a hundred years ago for plying the black arts, or a woman of more modern times who died in a local car accident in which her face was hideously mutilated. My beliefs in the Bloody Mary legends are jumbled, being as no one really knows what the story is I believe in every legend I hear, unless it seems completely unrealistic. The mysteries of The Legends of Bloody Mary remain a mystery that most believe completely unsolvable, due to the fact that there are various different stories on the same one being, dating back to the 1600’s. Bloody Mary will always be something curious kids will attempt to reach, and a way of frightening those who had supposedly succeeded.
