Adaptations of a Bengal tiger
The Bengal tiger is a warm blooded mammal. The male weighs between 397 and 675 pounds, while the female weighs between 221 and 353pounds. The average height of a Bengal tiger is between 36-40 inches. The average length of a Bengal tiger is between 9.5 feet to 10 feet.
Location of Bengal tiger
The Bengal tiger can be found in India, Burma, Bhuton, and Nepal.The Bengal tiger likes to live in tall grass lands in the jungle or forests.The Bengal tiger mostly like to live in nice hot weather.
The Bengal tiger is a carnivore which means it like to eat a lot of meat. It consumes monkeys, deer,oxen, buffalo, and wild boar. It consumes approximately 65 pounds of meat every night.
Bengal tigers have soft pads on their paws.The soft pads allow them to silently creep up on their prey.This allows them to be better hunters. This is a physical adaptation.
The Bengal tiger has sharp teeth, Their sharp teeth allow them to hunt prey.The Bengal tiger is a carnivore which means they are meat eaters. If the Bengal losses its teeth it can no longer hunt and it will die.This adaptation is physical adaptation.
The Bengal tiger has stripes on their body which allows them to camouflage in the tall grass during the day. When they are creeping upon their prey they to try to blend in so they are not spotted. When they are creeping up on their prey, that is a behavioral adaptation.The stripes on their body is a physical adaptation.
The Bengal tiger has claws that can retract to rip off the flesh of the animal. Their claws make it a lot more easy for them to hunt in the wild. This is a physical adaptation:}
Bengal tigers hunt at night because of their vision. They hunt at night because they can see very well at night.They are nocturnal hunters. The shape of their retina is oval and slit in it which allows them to see better. Their vision is is a physical adaptation while hunting at night is a behavioral adaptation.
The Bengal tiger hunts alone at night because they get more meat when they are not in a group. This is a behavioral adaptation. They consume 65 pounds of meat each night
