Transcript of Subsidies

A form of financial assistance paid to a business or economic sector. Most subsidies are made by the government, and given to producers or distributors in an industry to prevent the decline of that industry. An example? There was a subsidy used for agriculture in Europe, Africa, Japan, New Zealand, and the United States in 1997. The government gave these industries money to continue growing crops.
