Suicide Every 13.7 minutes, someone in the .U.S. commits suicide. For every suicide, there are twenty more attempts. Nearly 60% of all suicides are committed with a firearm. In the year 2000, approximately one million people committed suicide. At least 100,000 of those suicides were committed by adolescents. During the year 2000, there were more female adolescents contemplating suicide than adolescent males. Even though, males are more likely to commit suicide than females. The most common age to commit, or attempt, suicide is between the ages of 40 to 49 It hurts to lose someone you love. It kills me inside to know that he left The most common way for someone to kill themselves is with a firearm. The second most common way is by poison and overdose.
