Agriculture sector form 12% in Malaysia’s gross domestic product (tradingeconomics.com, 2012)
Malaysia has the most mature oil palm in the world (Corly,et al., 2003)
Oil palm trees are prone to stress.
Stress in oil palm trees are caused by low water contain in soil
Important to have an irrigation system to provide adequate water even area receives more than 10mm rainfall per day (Burke, 2012).
Can increase yield by 20%
Problem Statement
In this project, an irrigation system is to be located to the area of study. Currently, there is no proper irrigation being established.
Objectives of the Study
1) To study hydrological pattern of the location

2) To locate irrigation route on the area and oil palm effected

3) To produce a map of the irrigation route and 3D presentation of the area

Aim of the Study
To design an irrigation layout for oil palm plantation located in Jelai, Negeri Sembilan with the aid of geographic information system (GIS).
Study Area

Jelai, Negeri Sembilan . The area covered is about 52 hectares of oil palm plantation estate.

The area covered by the watershed is 305,048.4738 m². Whilst area covered 150m outward of river is 241586.5491 m². Total length of the water conservation is 153.91m and drainage need to be establish is 1062.68m in order for all oil palm to get sufficient water.

the drainage, the result shows that there are 213 oil palm trees effected along drainage route and 18 oil palm trees will be effected along water conservation area. If establishment of the new oil palm drainage takes place, a total of 231 will have
to be excavated.

CONCLUSION
The objectives of the project which;
1. To study hydrological pattern of the location
2. To locate irrigation route on the area and oil palm effected
3. To produce a map of the irrigation route and 3D presentation of the area

is achieved through the use of GIS analysis
Recommendation for Further Development
1. Integrating engineering part
2. Develop a simple web GIS
3. Integrating irrigation route with possible outcome of future yield
4. Integrating fertigation route with irrigation
