The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
In the first book of the series, we are intouduced by 4 high school students, Lena Kaligaris, Tibby Rollins, Carmen Lowell and Bridget Vreeland who have been best friends since birth. The summer before junior year of high school, Carmen finds an old pair of jean that magicaly fits all of them, despite their different sizes. They share the "Traveling Pants" between them over the summer while they are seperated.
Lena spends the summer with her grandparents in Greece. While there, she meets Kostos, the grandson of one on her grandparents' friends. Though, she accepts his feelings, she is shy an unable to express hers. One day, she goes swimming and is accidently seen by Kostos and make her grandparents mad. Lena tries to explain, but can't. Later in the summer, she explains what happened to fix everything between her and Kostos' grandparents, and confesses that she loves him.
Tibby spends the summer working at a department store, planning to document her experience there. She meets a 12 year old girl, Bailey, who she is annoyed with, but at the end of the summer, they become friends after they worked on Tibby's documentary. Bailey is hospitalized and dies at the end of the novel from leukemia. Tibby changes her documentary to be about her summer with Bailey.
Carmen goes to South Carolina to spend the summer with her dad, in which they grown apart since her parents' divorce several years before. She is surprised when she finds out that her father ia engaged to a woman who he lives with and has two children of her own. After being frustrated at her dad's new family, she breaks one of their windows and returns home. She eventually forgives and attends his wedding when her friends tell her to go.
Bridget attends a soccer camp in Mexico. While there, she meets Eric, one of the coaches, and immediately falls in love. Despite coach-camper relationships off-limits, Bridget actively pushes him away by running with him and going to his room in her underwear, but ends up realizing that it doesn't work. She gives up at the end of the novel...until book 3.
She was born on July 30, 1967 in Alexandria, Virginia. She is an American writer of young adult fiction. She is best known as the author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series of books.
She grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland and she attended elementary school at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. After she studied philosophy at Barnard College, she worked as an editor for 17th Street Productions. it was acquired by Alloy Entertainment. After that, she beifly worked for Alloy.
After leaving Alloy, she started writing book. Her birft one was The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and became an international best seller. SHe wrote many books since.
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood
Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget are back for another summer with the magical pants. The jeans from the second hand store that looked fantastic on all four best friends have been waiting for another summer. New words and decorations have been added to the memories of last year's events.
The girls have all grown up during the year and find themselves changing in many different ways.
Bridget hasn't regain herself from her relationship the summer before and decides to spend the summer with her grandmother in Alabama. She also want to recover herself and her love of soccer.
Carmen is mad when she finds out her mom is dating again. Just as her mom is going on her first date, she tries to wear the pants.
Tibby is at film camp, where she finds the need to wear the pants to find out who is honest and who is fake.
Lena is surprised when Kostos, her greek boyfriend, comes to America. They fall in love all over again. In addition, she learns that her mom experienced long-distance breakups when she was Lena's age even though she doesn't want to discuss it.
The four of them need the pants and each other to keep growing their different personalities.

The Third Summer of the Sisterhood
Its the girls last year before college. They find themselves in different, but challenging ways. They all fight for their identities, love and relationships.
After Lena's grandfather's death, her father convinces her grandmother, Valia, to leave Greece and move in with his family. She gets homesick and unhappy, continually complains and makes Lena's live miserable.
Lena's one comfort is her figure art at an art school, against her parents' wishes that she chooses something more useful. But when he goes to her art class to see her drawing a nude model(man), he absolutely bans her from going to her class. Lena tries to fund for her class by herself, but is caught by her father, which declares that she will no longer go to the Rhode Island School of Design.
Tibby is asked by Brian to go to the senior party with him, as his date. Although it is noticed that she returns his romantic feelings, she gets concerned about adapting their relationship and take a bigger step with him. She soon gives in, however, than Brian kisses her and says that he loves her.
The next morning, Katherine approached the window and gets an apple. She than falls out the window and hurts her head. Tibby gets depressed, and is concerned for Katherine and blames herself for the accident. She also sense that she didn't love Katherine enough, having always disliked her younger siblings.
She starts avoiding Brian, feeling as though the accident wouldn't have happened if she hadn't thought about him, and says that Katherine's accident signifies that taking risks will only end in hurt. At the end of the novel, Tibby develops into Christina's unwanted labor partner. She helps her be brave enough to have the baby, even though her husband and Carmen aren't there. This makes Tibby be brave herself and encounter her feelings for Brian rather than be shy away from them, and begin a new relationship.
Bridget goes to soccer camp in Pennsylvania, and is shocked to discover that Eric is one of her fellow coaches. Her feelings for him are reawakening, and is surprised that he has a girlfriend, Kaya. She plans to avoid him, but her plan doesn't work when they become partners, causing them constantly seeing each other.
Not willing to upset Eric, Bridget puts her feelings aside and forces herself to just being Eric’s friend. She also respects the relationship between Eric and Kaya and the two develop a friendship despite Bridget’s confusion.
After, Bridget gets a fever, Eric discovers her in her cabin very ill and lifts her to his cabin and looks after her. She wakes up to Eric holding her because they fell asleep together. Feeling sorry, she tries to leave, but her effort wakes him up. Bridget gets mixed up and feels abandoned when he leaves camp for an without saying anything, and makes a decision that she won’t his attention anymore. As much as she wants the summer with Eric, it started to feel weird because she is left alone to wonder why he left her again. She trains her soccer team, and goes defeating Eric’s team in the playoffs.
Later, Bridget questions Eric about his leaving, and he admits that he went back to New York to break up with his girlfriend because he had feelings for Bridget. Initially, Bridget asks Eric if he gets closer just so he can leave her, but he lets her know differently. He says that he feels they were always meant to be and become a couple. :)
