My Travel Journal:
The Quest of someone.

My Quest starts at
Ancient Greece
The noisy town wandered past me
as I gazed at one of the statues of one
of their many gods. Fascinated, with one finger I poked the statues. Never before had I seen a sight like this
in my life. I felt lucky that I was
going on such a quest.
Next Stop
The Roman Empire
I was told by the people of my
hometown to beware of this place
for they were a harsh people, the
Roman Empire. I watched in the arena as the Romans fed a man to a bloodthirsty lion. The sight was not a good one.
Something
Learned
When I was in Jerusalem I learned of something new. Judeo-Christian beliefs, include equality of all people which I think is good. They also believe that everyone should follow the same
laws which is another thing I
think is good.
The rise of
Democracy
The rise of Democracy is another thing that I saw and learned about on my quest. They had things called branches. There was a branch called the legislative branch that made laws. There was a branch called the executive branch that carried out laws. They seemed like good ideas as well as confusing ones.
Ancient China
The next place that I visited was Ancient China. It was an interesting place. I met a man named Confucius. He was very wise. He told me many things in the short time that I talked to him. I also met these people who talked of a religion called Taoism. There is this symbol called the Yin Yang. It is an interesting symbol. I drew one so I would not forget it.

Chinese
Dynasties
I entered the Sui Dynasty curious
of what to find and see. It was a big place. It was ruled by a man by the name of Wen Ti. I did not hear very much about him besides that he was a great ruler. I also got to see the great wall. It was among the biggest walls I have ever seen if not the biggest. I looked up at the wall in awe never wanting to stop staring. There was a religion there called Buddhism. The people who followed Buddhism where called Buddhists. I thought it seemed like an interesting religion. They wanted to find enlightenment.
The Spread of Islam
I went to a place called Medina. The city had just become its own state. I wanted to meet Muhammad, but he was in the Arabian Peninsula expanding his influence.
Early Africa
I found a trail that lead to a nice grassy area with trees. Suddenly a turtle popped his head out of his shell that in the grass could be easily mistaken for a rock. Then all of a sudden a pack of zebras ran by. It was the best part of the quest so far. I also bought wonderful pottery in the Aksum Kingdom.
