Transcript of My Career Project

Some task or activities that are related to my career are, Assisting and Caring for Others, Documenting/Recording Information, Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships, Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge. The reason why I listed down Assisting and Caring for Others is because I have to provide a lot of personal assistance to coworkers, customers, and patients. Second, I chose Documenting/Recording Information. The reason why I chose that one was because I am going to have to keep track of different documents and records. Third, Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships. I have to be able to stay connected with someone over a long period of time, until they're doing better. Last, Updating and Using Relevant Knowledge. I can always learn knew and better ways to do my job. Obstacle 1 Obstacle 2 Obstacle 3 Goal Start The average wage of an Occupational Therapist
is $61,000 a year or 5,084 a month. To achieve a higher payment I can study on the career more. I believe that the education given at Alliance Judy Ivie Burton Technology Academy High School is relevant to my career because they help you speak up. They teach you life skills, as well as, the school subjects like English, Math, Biology, etc. The technology there will prepare me for my future career by showing me other ways to
arrange files or other medias online. The teachers at the school will help me by teaching me different subjects and showing me different colleges. The extra-curricular courses/activities at Burton Tech can help me by learning some new things in life. Tasks In my high school years my english teacher, Ms.Mello, can help me prepare for my career because she can help me with my vocabulary and to associate with others. Also, she gave me some tips on what classes to take. I asked her what classes should I take in my high school years. She recommended me to be more into my drama and math classes. She said drama because it helps you act like the problem is okay when it's not. Math helps with learning to organize different documents. Wage . . . Mr.Landrum By: Alfredo Pacheco My Holland code is SRI (Social, Realistic, and Investigative). This code does match me because I am
very social with people. Also, I am realistic which means that I am very good at getting along and helping others. Last, investigative, I love solving mysteries. I think that the holland code helps describe the kind of person you are and if you're really into the career. The career I've chosen is Occupational Therapy. This is related to my holland code because you have to solve other people's problems(investigative), be able to talk with others well(social), and tell the truth to others(realistic). Occupational therapy is helping others get through tough times, help children overcome their fears, and helping people reach their goals. Basically, helping people live their lives. The minimum education requirement for an occupational therapist is a two-year associate’s degree. The degree should be from a program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association. Courses will generally include courses on biology, psychology, kinesiology (the science of movement) and a variety of occupational therapy courses. I think that three of the six pillars of character that involve in my career are respect, citizenship, and trustworthiness. I chose these because you have to be honest with your clients and you have to respect them. Being a person with character can help you get along with others better and also, have more respect for people. If you have respect for people then that will make them feel comfortable with telling you their problems. School's Involved . . . STL: Ashley Aguiar McKay, Dawn Rosenberg.
