Hookworms were discovered by a man named Dubini in Italy 1834 Outbreaks:
Most out breaks of this terrible parasite are in the tropical and subtropical regions Other names:
Hookworms also go by the name of Ancylostomiasis How the parasite spreads:
Hookworms spread by being transmitted when the eggs in human or animal feices are deposited on the ground, they hatch and develop into tiny larvae and penetrate your skin
How common is this parasite:
Hookworms are common or known in the warm moist climates and regions What population does this parasite effect:
Hookworms can infect any race, age, or gender, but mostly infects people that live on tropical island. Where to find the parasite:
Hookworms can be found in subtropical areas and anywhere on your body, most likely in the intestines How do you know if you have hookworms:
Symptoms include itching and a rash on the place where it may have entered your body, fatigue, breathing difficulty, enlarged heart, irregular heartbeat.
HOOK FACT: hookworms can also cause death How it progresses over time:
Light infections, no symptoms can be seen. Heavy infections are noticeable, cause's anemia, abdominal pain, DIARRHEA, loss of appetite, and weight loss How it impacts the body:
Hookworms start their fun journey through the body by finding a host and burrowing into your bare foot, then catches a ride through your blood stream, its like going on a water slide to them. The hookworm stays in your viens, until it reaches the lungs, then it burrows out of the blood vessels and into the lung, how funn. Next its coughed up into your throat mixed in with mucus and swallowed, making it to the stomach finally ending its journey by climbing to the lining of you small intestine and sucking the life out of you without you knowing. Prevention:
To prevent hookworms just wear shoes and dont walk out bare footed in cetain places. SIMPLE Medication:
