Galileo Galilei - Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy in 1564 on February 15
- His full name is Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de' Galilei
- Re-invented the telescope
- Called the father of modern science
- Improved on the compass
- In 1592, he moved to the University of Padua, teaching geometry, mechanics, and astronomy until 1610
- Made everyone believe the sun is the center of the universe
