00:00 - 00:03
Yeah. Have you guys ever wondered what Pablo escobar's life
00:04 - 00:04
was really like?
00:05 - 00:07
Um Well today I'm going to be telling you guys
00:07 - 00:07
about it.
00:08 - 00:11
Okay, so today what I'm going to be talking about
00:11 - 00:14
first and foremost, why did I choose this topic?
00:15 - 00:16
Who is he really?
00:17 - 00:17
Who is Pablo escobar?
00:19 - 00:24
Background information, facts, impact crimes and judicial judicious consequences.
00:25 - 00:28
An interview with his son will be shown during this
00:28 - 00:31
presentation and we're going to also talk a little bit
00:32 - 00:34
about my reading and listening files and then we're already
00:34 - 00:35
gonna be by the end.
00:37 - 00:37
Mhm. Okay.
00:38 - 00:40
So why did I choose to talk about escobar?
00:40 - 00:43
Um Well about a year ago I started watching Narcos
00:44 - 00:46
and I got really invested in it because I like
00:46 - 00:50
crime and I don't know how to redirect his character
00:51 - 00:53
because he is a good person he's carrying and he
00:53 - 00:54
took care of his people.
00:54 - 00:56
Um Yes.
00:57 - 01:00
Some people see him as a comment ist person and
01:01 - 01:03
you can't blame them because he did cause a lot
01:03 - 01:04
of deaths and everything.
01:05 - 01:08
But I don't know it's just so interesting to um
01:09 - 01:10
see him because of his character.
01:11 - 01:12
All right.
01:12 - 01:14
Um Who is he?
01:14 - 01:16
Really? He is one of the biggest strugglers from Colombia
01:17 - 01:18
and actually just the whole world.
01:19 - 01:22
He was born on December 1 1949 and he died
01:22 - 01:24
on December 2 1975.
01:26 - 01:29
Um He was the head of the Medellin cartel which
01:30 - 01:31
is a drug cartel in Colombia.
01:33 - 01:40
He caused about 4000 deaths including judges and presidents that
01:40 - 01:42
were like not in his favor obviously.
01:45 - 01:48
Um Pablo did have a great galante for the poor.
01:48 - 01:49
He helped them a lot.
01:50 - 01:55
Um He build soccer field and just like he tried
01:55 - 02:02
to make it safe for them and yeah background information.
02:03 - 02:11
Okay so his parents were mhm very poor.
02:11 - 02:15
So he grew up really poorly and that was it
02:16 - 02:19
was also always his ambition to be president and to
02:19 - 02:22
just be better and have more money growing up.
02:22 - 02:25
His Mom was a high school teacher and his that
02:25 - 02:26
was a farmer.
02:26 - 02:28
He was the 3rd of seven kids.
02:28 - 02:30
So he was the third oldest out of all the
02:30 - 02:35
siblings. And um he started his crime in high school
02:36 - 02:38
and he worked for Oscar Briana Aguirre.
02:39 - 02:44
He started off selling high school diplomas and then later
02:44 - 02:48
on he started stealing tombstones out of the graveyard and
02:49 - 02:52
he would smuggle on drugs in there.
02:55 - 03:02
He always um he also said he also um stole
03:02 - 03:05
cars but yeah we're going to get more into his
03:05 - 03:06
crimes that are on.
03:07 - 03:10
He got married at 27 while his um wife was
03:11 - 03:11
15 years old.
03:12 - 03:16
Yes 15 it's a lot of its difference but they
03:16 - 03:18
were happily married, they had two Children, a son and
03:18 - 03:18
a daughter.
03:19 - 03:22
We're also gonna watch the interview about this some later
03:22 - 03:26
on. Okay so then we have some more effects about
03:27 - 03:31
Paulo. One of his nicknames Was Don Pablo.
03:32 - 03:33
The other one is El Patron.
03:34 - 03:35
Patron means the bus in Spanish.
03:37 - 03:40
Um A nickname that he got from the poor was
03:41 - 03:41
Robin Hood.
03:43 - 03:45
He also had a he just had so much money
03:45 - 03:47
that he could waste it on building a zoo.
03:48 - 03:49
He has with giraffes.
03:49 - 03:55
Everything inside Anyways he used $2,500 a month on Rubber
03:56 - 03:59
vans. Sorry for the background noise.
04:00 - 04:03
They're currently working on my house but anyways um So
04:03 - 04:07
yes he used $2500 a month on rubber bands to
04:07 - 04:10
all this money together just to all this money together.
04:11 - 04:13
That's how much people make a month or maybe two
04:13 - 04:14
months anyways.
04:15 - 04:19
Um. Oh yeah $30 billion.
04:20 - 04:24
Is his network still Even though it's still $30 million
04:25 - 04:28
dollars which is so much like I was crazy.
04:29 - 04:34
It is um 15 tons of cocaine was exploited each
04:34 - 04:37
day while he was in the industry, 80 of cocaine
04:37 - 04:43
from the USA was from uh escobar's industry Which is
04:43 - 04:44
so much like 8%.
04:46 - 04:48
That's how he got so rich so fast.
04:48 - 04:49
Especially from the USA.
04:49 - 04:53
That's where they really started seeing the money coming in.
04:54 - 04:55
He had his own prison.
04:56 - 04:58
Um We're also going to get more in two days
04:58 - 04:59
later on.
05:01 - 05:05
Yeah. Okay so the impact that he had um he
05:06 - 05:11
was a hero to some but he was also the
05:12 - 05:13
villain in most stories.
05:14 - 05:16
Um He made Colombia unsafe.
05:17 - 05:21
A saying of his was and right side plata Oklahoma
05:21 - 05:25
which was silver or lead silver as in coins and
05:26 - 05:27
Berezin a bullet.
05:27 - 05:30
So it was either you take the money and you
05:30 - 05:34
shut up about whatever it is and you don't die
05:34 - 05:36
or you don't take the money but you die on
05:36 - 05:39
the spot or something really bad just happens to you.
05:40 - 05:48
Okay. Um Yeah, so this is a video about yeah
05:49 - 05:56
um this is the interview with his son between other
05:56 - 05:56
people of course.
05:57 - 05:59
But yeah, he's basically gonna be talking a little bit
05:59 - 06:00
about the world with Colombia.
06:00 - 06:03
So how Colombia was at the time and also his
06:04 - 06:07
um relationship with is that and everything?
06:09 - 06:09
Uh huh.
06:14 - 06:18
Okay. So I think due to the video, I mean
06:18 - 06:20
to the internet, the video isn't going to be loading
06:20 - 06:22
so attached the video for sure.
06:22 - 06:25
Then we can still watch it just not um right
06:26 - 06:27
now, but yeah.
06:27 - 06:31
Okay, so now I'm going to be telling you guys
06:31 - 06:33
about the crimes and the consequences.
06:34 - 06:39
So obviously was involved in drug trafficking bombing, assassination, bribery.
06:39 - 06:39
Rocket rape.
06:40 - 06:42
Yes he cheated on his wife and his happy happy
06:43 - 06:47
marriage. I don't know if um it made him calm
06:47 - 06:53
or something but yeah oh so the consequences of this
06:53 - 06:57
was that he did have to go to jail but
06:58 - 07:01
they could never catch him no matter what they they
07:01 - 07:02
were never able to catch him.
07:03 - 07:07
Um At a certain point in time he did um
07:08 - 07:12
turned himself in but he did this under certain circumstances
07:13 - 07:16
and the circumstances were that he could build his own
07:16 - 07:20
prison in his own chosen millionaire which was in the
07:20 - 07:21
middle of the jungle of course.
07:22 - 07:27
And um yeah so his consequence was five years in
07:27 - 07:31
prison but he did um managed to escape.
07:32 - 07:34
But a consequence of this was that he had to
07:34 - 07:35
be under run.
07:35 - 07:37
His family also had to be on the run and
07:38 - 07:42
he sent them to Germany okay.
07:43 - 07:47
And eventually the last consequence was also death for a
07:47 - 07:52
problem. Um He got um decoy it by Asia Murphy
07:53 - 07:56
and then he was killed on a rooftop in Colombia.
07:59 - 08:00
Okay. My reading and listening for.
08:01 - 08:06
So basically um my listening for us was um Narcos
08:06 - 08:11
watching Narcos and interviews and some extra videos on Youtube.
08:11 - 08:13
But I wanted to show you guys to trade their
08:13 - 08:15
of Narcos but I doubt that is going to be
08:15 - 08:16
able to load.
08:16 - 08:19
So I also just attach these in the fire that
08:19 - 08:20
we could watch those in class.
08:21 - 08:27
And then the book um his book, the book that
08:27 - 08:30
I read was also just about Pablo's life and it
08:31 - 08:34
was kind of like the series but just like different
08:34 - 08:35
because you're reading about it.
08:35 - 08:40
I really enjoyed watching Narcos though, so Yeah.
08:41 - 08:43
Yeah, I don't think it's gonna love but okay let's
08:44 - 08:46
just continue anyways.
08:47 - 08:54
Um So Pablo was very um and right he had
08:54 - 08:59
a great gallantry over the poor but yeah everything comes
09:00 - 09:03
to an end and yeah.
09:04 - 09:11
Yeah. So yes he did have a lot of power
09:11 - 09:17
over Colombia in the Colombians but Adrian Murphy just wasn't
09:17 - 09:20
having it and he did get killed.
09:21 - 09:25
So yeah that brings my presentation to an end.
09:25 - 09:27
If you have any questions you can always ask me.
09:28 - 09:29
But yeah I hope you enjoy it.
