00:01 - 00:03
Hello. My name is Claudia Popa.
00:03 - 00:05
I'm the ceo of data risk Canada.
00:06 - 00:11
As the name implies, we operate almost exclusively north of
00:11 - 00:15
the border and we deal with any information security matters
00:16 - 00:23
from security audits to corporate training to incident management and
00:23 - 00:26
of course the creation of lots and lots of presentations
00:27 - 00:28
and webinars.
00:29 - 00:34
What we're doing here today on the Midway is we're
00:34 - 00:38
happy to participate and of course we support our cousin
00:38 - 00:43
company and non profit organization, the Knowledge Flow Cyber Safety
00:44 - 00:48
Foundation. And as you may have seen in the other
00:48 - 00:53
presentation, I'm also involved with the Knowledge Flow, which of
00:53 - 00:55
course is an entirely separate entity.
00:56 - 01:00
It's a non profit organization and what we do here
01:01 - 01:04
at data risk because it's an umbrella company for so
01:05 - 01:14
many uh individual boutique firms were also powering the foundation,
01:15 - 01:22
the modern technology that that powers Canadian nonprofit foundations, Canadian
01:23 - 01:29
nonprofit organizations and Canadian charities and of course Knowledge Flow
01:30 - 01:31
is one of those.
01:31 - 01:35
But for the most part we deal with regular businesses,
01:35 - 01:41
We conduct risk assessment, we perform compliance audits, privacy impact
01:42 - 01:46
analysis. We certainly do security testing and there is no
01:46 - 01:53
shortage of ways that our certified professionals can help organizations
01:54 - 01:58
to ensure that they have a solid security and cyber
01:58 - 01:59
security management program.
02:00 - 02:06
What we are really known for is our ability to
02:07 - 02:13
mix and combine those security audits with the other requirements
02:14 - 02:17
for compliance and for security management, one of which is
02:19 - 02:20
security awareness education.
02:20 - 02:26
In fact we focus on on situational awareness and we
02:27 - 02:32
try to experientially teach employees how to perform how to
02:32 - 02:36
be vigilant and how to report suspected incidents.
02:37 - 02:40
We have a maturity scale that deals with security awareness
02:41 - 02:46
as we do within our many um security audits and
02:46 - 02:49
you can see here that we have a seal that
02:50 - 02:52
applies to any number of things.
02:52 - 02:54
So beyond privacy and security.
02:54 - 02:58
We also deal with business continuity, disaster recovery, one of
02:58 - 03:04
my favorites which is performance the performance of online applications
03:05 - 03:08
of websites and services.
03:09 - 03:13
So a lot of this stuff is fairly run of
03:13 - 03:19
the mill um type of of solution that you might
03:19 - 03:25
find in any organization that's looking to supplement their internal
03:25 - 03:27
capabilities with external expertise.
03:28 - 03:30
But what we do is we really partner with our
03:31 - 03:35
clients and we are we always try to provide as
03:35 - 03:38
many services at no charge as possible.
03:38 - 03:45
So uh quarterly reviews, ongoing consultations, um free security training
03:45 - 03:50
to all of our audit clients etcetera because that threat
03:50 - 03:54
landscape continues to change and evolve over time.
03:54 - 03:57
So I really appreciate the opportunity from the N.
03:58 - 03:58
R. M.
03:58 - 04:00
C. To participate in this Midway.
04:01 - 04:03
