  1. Found in DS M five on page 744
  2. schizotypal personality disorder coded F 21
  3. is categorized under cluster a personality disorders
  4. along with paranoid personality disorder and schizoid
  5. personality disorder.
  6. This disorder is described as a pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal
  7. deficits marked by acute discomfort with
  8. and reduced capacity for close relationships
  9. as well as by cognitive or perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior
  10. beginning by early childhood and present
  11. in a variety of contexts as indicated by five or more of the following
  12. including ideas of reference, excluding delusions of reference,
  13. odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences
  14. behavior and is inconsistent with some cultural norms
  15. and in Children and adolescents.
  16. Um this would be bizarre fantasies or preoccupations,
  17. unusual perceptual
  18. experiences including bodily illusions, odd thinking and speech,
  19. suspicious or paranoid ideation,
  20. inappropriate or constricted effect
  21. behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric or pear,
  22. peculiar lack of close friends or confidant other
  23. than first degree relatives or excessive social anxiety.
  24. Jeff Dammer
  25. began having pervasive patterns of social and interpersonal deficits
  26. marked by acute discomfort and reduced capacity for relationships
  27. with delusions.
  28. Beginning at a young age,
  29. he began with ideas of reference following his double hernia surgery,
  30. believing incorrect interpretations of his penis being cut off.
  31. And he also enjoyed the bones and the of
  32. animals clunking together and playing with the internal organs.
  33. Dalmer also found discomforting getting close to people who he
  34. could not control and possibly um from the lack of control
  35. that he had while his parents fault or the lack of
  36. control from not being able to keep his father home.
  37. And from his absence,
  38. he was fond of a particular teacher and gave that
  39. teacher the tadpoles who instantly re gifted the tadpoles.
  40. But Jeff retaliated um by pouring motor oil and
  41. killed the tadpoles after following the boy home.
  42. This behavior is not normal
  43. and is however odd and inappropriate.
  44. And because of his lack of control,
  45. he developed bizarre fantasies and delusions of
  46. having power to operate sex slaves.
  47. After transforming individuals through the drilling of their schools,
  48. he would pour hydrochloric and
  49. medic acid into the holes to um
  50. zombify his victims and even had fantasies about
  51. having intercourse with dead Andrej elected bodies.
  52. Um And then ended up
  53. doing so.
  54. He also chopped his victims up, saved specific parts for preservation,
  55. eight other pieces and kept skulls as sentimental trophies.
  56. All of these behaviors and thinking is delusional, odd, bizarre and peculiar.
  57. The model of psychopathology that I chose is the Christian biblical model.
  58. This model states that any mental
  59. or emotional instability that causes disturbance
  60. or distance between the relationship that an individual has with their creator,
  61. the Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ is considered psychopathology.
  62. The model also says that
  63. um it consists of any behavior or action that draws the individual away
  64. from being an example of Christ or walking in the will for the
  65. walking in his will for their life.
  66. Um
  67. When individuals are stuck and chained by demons and other worldly ways,
  68. they have the opportunity to believe in the deliverance and healing,
  69. through obedience and grace from an Almighty God,
  70. the disorders
  71. and instabilities that are caused according to this model come
  72. from the fall of humans in the Garden of Eden,
  73. um where God created the earth and the heavens and created man
  74. and woman and gave them a set of rules to abide by.
  75. They were placed in an environment that would provide
  76. every need and desire that they could have.
  77. Um God, the creator told them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
  78. And they did
  79. through this direct disobedience, a curse was placed on the earth. Um
  80. And the tree of life became off limits
  81. that humans no longer had access to the garden and Satan let loose and sin and became
  82. um rampant on the earth because of this losing
  83. of Saint Anne demons and other deceitful thinking,
  84. led to adulterous, murderous, sick, twisted,
  85. um and other flourishing ideas and lifestyles.
  86. And eventually God um sent an ultimate sacrifice. Um Jesus Christ.
  87. Um We are all born sinners and exposed to a
  88. world filled with demons and other spiritual powers of darkness.
  89. But at the moment,
  90. demons have the ability to roam the earth and other spiritual realms,
  91. but not heaven.
  92. They are ultimately not secured in anything.
  93. Um Because Jesus died and overcame death and ultimately
  94. crushed the serpent in all of its Dominion.
  95. Satan tries to trick humans into believing that his ways are better than
  96. God's ways and can even keep individuals living in deceit and delusion.
  97. Some individuals have never gotten to experience the love of God or encounter
  98. Jesus. So they believe their wicked ways and
  99. they create false realities and um
  100. live in minimal human perspectives.
  101. Individuals who find themselves with these demons and
  102. other worldly disorders or suffocating mental illness,
  103. um They can choose to seek the church, go to God,
  104. go to his word and through deliverance or discipline, prayer belief.
  105. Um declaration and other miracles.
  106. Jesus can make a way where there seems to be no way.
  107. Um Individuals must completely surrender to any
  108. type of thinking that they thought was
  109. true and experience the coming of the end of their self or world sufficiency.
  110. And because I am a Christian, um this model
  111. where Jesus has the power to overcome any demon classified by the world, um
  112. means that we also have the power of the Holy Spirit
  113. within us to seek and ask for deliverance and expect it.
  114. Um And that is my truth. Um
  115. It may not be logical,
  116. but I believe that Jesus Christ is the answer to everything.
  117. And due to this perception and knowledge,
  118. I have empathy with boundaries for those who are struggling with mental disorders,
  119. including S P D.
  120. Um And I get to fully embrace and face those demons and illnesses rather
  121. than run from them and believe that they are hopeless or lost causes.
  122. Um because I know that my God has a purpose and a plan for each
  123. and every bad thing or struggle and turns everything into goodness for his glory.
  124. I know that I have the power to, to lay hands on people.
  125. And then also um just call on the name of Jesus
  126. for recognition and favor upon an individual who might be bound.
  127. And I also know that it's not just prayer and deliverance,
  128. it's whatever the Lord's will may be.
  129. And if that
  130. um
  131. that just may be between the person and the Lord,
  132. um Jesus has given us peace that surpasses
  133. all human understanding and we have access to
  134. it each day and it's just up to us to stay connected to that vine.
  135. And um with
  136. Dammer, he um didn't really have that influence. Um
  137. And so he wasn't able to uh seek deliverance until he
  138. um there's reports of when he was arrested and,
  139. and finding God in prison days before he was executed.
  140. Um So I found a few journal um articles um about the Greek prison,
  141. uh an Iran prison and also a psychiatric hospital.
  142. Um, all of them showing that
  143. sick, um
  144. that many inmates as well as um
  145. institutionalized individuals are sexual offenders with
  146. personality disorders including schizotypal personality disorders.
  147. With the first article I found that
  148. um, 16.2% of diagnosed
  149. um individuals in the Greek prison where this study was done
  150. had schizotypal personality disorder and violent crimes and
  151. homicides were found significantly associated with this disorder.
  152. And the odds of committing the violent crimes were
  153. 2.86 times higher and 4.25 times higher for homicide.
  154. And in the Iran prison,
  155. um
  156. S P D
  157. and P D
  158. P P D as well as borderline personality
  159. disorder were most prevalent among men and women.
  160. And then with the psychiatric hospital, the treatment shows that
  161. um
  162. 83% of those who were
  163. the non sexual offenders evaluated in the study that was
  164. released had a diagnosis of a schizophrenic personality disorder.
  165. So I just wanted to say thank you for listening here my references. And then also, um
  166. we don't know for sure with the um all of the different research that has taken place
  167. and um the proposed diagnosis that could have
  168. taken place in 1987 by a probation officer.
  169. Um but we do know that there was not much early intervention
  170. or exhausted resources prior to the crimes committed with Jeffrey Dahmer.
  171. However, we do know that for a fact,
  172. anything that is untreated or not able to be treated will not get better.
  173. And so Dahmer was untreated and unable to overcome the disorder symptoms.
  174. And we also know that he developed substance and alcohol abuse and
  175. trying to suppress his violent thoughts and to minimize the compulsions.
  176. But in the end, it did not work.
  177. And so this presentation was just to show
  178. what happens when there's no early intervention.
  179. And when
  180. schizotypal
  181. Personality disorder goes untreated and the,
  182. the, um, effects that, that could take place if it does go unnoticed and untreated.
  183. Thanks so much for listening.
