  1. This is my theory of change.
  2. for e.
  3. d. u.
  4. c. 800.
  5. Change. What is change changes the act or instance of
  6. becoming different people typically don't fear change.
  7. Um They resist change.
  8. The saying is that people fear change because they are
  9. not ready for change.
  10. But what people really resist is not changed per se.
  11. But lost my personal theory of changes.
  12. It's a growing process that a leader goes through to
  13. get better and there are many steps of leader takes
  14. to change to serve their followers.
  15. I believe that my theory of change is like a
  16. flower blossoming.
  17. So step one is the planting and step one.
  18. The planting stage is where the seeds of becoming a
  19. leader are planted.
  20. This is where the budding leader is observing other leaders
  21. and are doing um what other leaders are doing and
  22. they're taking notes to make themselves an effective leader.
  23. My personal example for this is that during my planting
  24. stage I observed different leaders in higher up positions in
  25. the field of higher education to determine what type of
  26. leader I wanted to be.
  27. It helped me really understand the field of higher education.
  28. Um and what part of the field of higher education
  29. I wanted to be a part of.
  30. It also helped me understand the different leadership styles that
  31. can be found in an office setting.
  32. Step two is what I call a budding.
  33. In this stage.
  34. The leader starts to emerge, there are figuring out what
  35. changes need to be implemented.
  36. They're also trying to see what leader what they can
  37. do that's different than other leaders.
  38. This emerging leader is taking ownership of their power as
  39. a leader.
  40. My personal example for this is when I made the
  41. switch from an admissions counselor to an assistant director of
  42. admissions, I found myself with more tasks and responsibilities um
  43. and I was able to take knowledge that I learned
  44. from others when I made my switch in terms of
  45. positions um and gained the responsibilities that I did, I
  46. was able to effectively take on a college partnership.
  47. Um and the biggest question that I asked myself during
  48. this time was how can I be an effective liaison
  49. for my college partnership, Step three.
  50. The blooming, the blooming is a stage where the leader
  51. has fully emerged while the leader still continues to learn
  52. and grow this stage is where they're taking action and
  53. following through with making a change.
  54. They know when they need to lead and when they
  55. need to take a step back to allow their followers
  56. to lead a personal example for me um as a
  57. leader, I'm still in the budding stage and I'm learning
  58. to lead and blossom and bloom.
  59. Um the stuff that I'm taking to get here are
  60. trying to figure out what my leading style is and
  61. how I'm able to best work with others to provide
  62. resources and assistance that they need, I'm still learning, I'm
  63. still glowing growing and one day I hope to bloom
  64. as a leader, I believe that this course will effectively
  65. help me become a better leader so that I'm able
  66. to bloom into the leader that I want to be.
  67. And this has been my personal theory of change, how
  68. I have grown as a leader, how I've changed as
  69. a leader and how my leadership style has fit in
  70. to the different stages um of a flower cycle.
