00:01 - 00:04
Hi, my name is Hi, My name is Jackie.
00:05 - 00:09
We did a collaboration together, creating two original works of
00:09 - 00:13
art using photography as our medium before we go over.
00:13 - 00:16
Any difficulties that we experienced in the stages of production
00:17 - 00:20
at first like to give you some background information on
00:21 - 00:21
the photos itself.
00:22 - 00:25
Our first photo is titled The Seven Deadly Sins.
00:26 - 00:26
The Neck.
00:26 - 00:29
This second photo is called The Seven Virtues.
00:30 - 00:38
During our pre production stage together, we work together to
00:38 - 00:41
come up with a theme and inspiration for our project.
00:42 - 00:45
We bounced around ideas until we came up with a
00:45 - 00:47
theme that we both liked from there.
00:47 - 00:50
We went on to find products and materials that would
00:51 - 00:53
need to get the perfect shots.
00:54 - 00:56
I would say that this part was probably the most
00:57 - 01:01
difficult because our pictures used a lot of symbolism and
01:01 - 01:05
we needed to find things and objects that represented the
01:05 - 01:06
words that we were trying to use.
01:07 - 01:09
So this was the most time consuming part of the
01:10 - 01:13
assignment. But luckily we were able to come up with
01:13 - 01:16
some great ideas to represent some of the virtues and
01:16 - 01:18
some of the seven deadly sins.
01:19 - 01:23
I like how we use things that were not to
01:23 - 01:26
direct. When someone takes a look at the photos, they
01:26 - 01:29
would probably think it's just a bunch of random things
01:29 - 01:32
put together, but with no meaning behind it.
01:32 - 01:33
Yes, I totally agree.
01:35 - 01:37
I think that it definitely creates a sense of confusion
01:38 - 01:40
at first to anyone who would look at it.
01:41 - 01:42
Um, uh huh.
01:43 - 01:48
I think that, um, yeah, it definitely creates a sense
01:49 - 01:53
of confusion at first if But I think if someone
01:53 - 01:57
was to mention the title of the photos, slowly but
01:57 - 01:59
surely the viewer would begin to see all the symbolism
02:00 - 02:03
and be able to put together what each object in
02:03 - 02:06
the picture meant and which virtue or sin that it
02:06 - 02:11
represented. Like for example, Uh, just by looking at the
02:11 - 02:17
first having the first view of the seven Virtues, you
02:18 - 02:21
would probably notice, there's, Ah, live rabbit, A real rabbit
02:22 - 02:26
in the photo with a turtle crossing the finish line.
02:27 - 02:33
So one of the seven virtues is humility, which, I
02:33 - 02:37
mean can be seen as being humble.
02:39 - 02:41
So I mean, a lot of people have heard of
02:41 - 02:46
the story of the turtle and the hair, the tortoise
02:46 - 02:51
and the Hare Racine because the hair thought he was
02:52 - 02:53
so fast and the turtle would never win.
02:54 - 02:55
He decided to take a nap.
02:56 - 03:00
And then I didn't know that the turtle just kept
03:00 - 03:03
going and going and ultimately finished in first place.
03:04 - 03:08
So that would be like one of the examples of
03:08 - 03:09
symbolism that we used.
03:10 - 03:13
Yes, I think working on the Seven Virtues photo was
03:13 - 03:17
definitely more difficult, especially because we had to deal with
03:18 - 03:18
a live animal.
03:19 - 03:22
Also, because the photo was taken during the part of
03:22 - 03:25
the day, the lighting was a lot harder to get
03:25 - 03:26
just right.
03:27 - 03:28
Mhm, yes, I agree.
03:29 - 03:32
I think the lighting was a bigger issue than both
03:32 - 03:33
of us had anticipated.
03:34 - 03:36
Lucky, luckily, were able to move the set around.
03:37 - 03:40
It's were able to find the best spot for the
03:40 - 03:42
low light effect that we were looking for.
03:43 - 03:47
I think with the little daylight, it definitely made it
03:47 - 03:49
hard to get the right the lighting just right.
03:50 - 03:52
Luckily, we're we had an extra set of hands, too.
03:53 - 03:56
Keep turning lights on and off and opening and closing
03:56 - 04:00
doors and blind just to see the different effect that
04:01 - 04:02
it would have on the shot itself.
04:06 - 04:10
So as faras um, the post production stages when we're
04:10 - 04:13
complete with our shots and we went to look over
04:14 - 04:17
everything, how did you feel that stage went for us?
04:18 - 04:21
In the end, I was really happy that we had
04:21 - 04:22
a lot of shots to choose room.
04:23 - 04:26
This made it easier to find the perfect shot to
04:26 - 04:27
use in this assignment.
04:29 - 04:32
Oh, and I also was really happy that we found
04:33 - 04:34
the program where we could incorporate fire.
04:35 - 04:38
We had a hard time looking for something to represent
04:38 - 04:39
Wrath and Origen.
04:40 - 04:42
It originally settled for a hammer.
04:43 - 04:45
When we were finished shooting, we found the program where
04:45 - 04:46
we could add a fire effect.
04:47 - 04:50
I think this really helped add a little extra to
04:50 - 04:51
the photo.
04:52 - 04:52
I agree.
04:52 - 04:57
I think adding the extra little details really helped take
04:57 - 04:58
the photo to another level.
04:59 - 05:03
Aside from using just the fire as ah effect afterwards
05:04 - 05:07
for the Seven virtues photo, we also had a glowing
05:08 - 05:12
effect to represent the kindness for that we were using
05:13 - 05:16
where someone was helping someone else.
05:17 - 05:19
And I think that glow added a little extra that
05:19 - 05:21
we needed just to make the photo pop of it.
05:24 - 05:27
Overall I think that we had a good plan and
05:28 - 05:29
we executed it very well.
05:30 - 05:33
Although there were some problems that we had, I think
05:33 - 05:36
we were able to improvise and get the results we
05:36 - 05:36
were looking for.
