00:01 - 00:04
this. This will be part three of the video the
00:04 - 00:05
other one had had cut short.
00:06 - 00:09
And then we're gonna go ahead into, um, strategy three.
00:10 - 00:12
And that is to change the performance rating system and
00:13 - 00:15
make it equitable across the board.
00:15 - 00:19
Um, so performance management, Um, it's a metrics that is
00:19 - 00:24
utilized to grade or measure, um, the employee's performance.
00:25 - 00:28
And it is a system that is used to provide
00:29 - 00:33
your, uh, your employees with feedback throughout the year, either
00:33 - 00:34
quarterly annually.
00:35 - 00:39
Um, you know, however, the organization does it, um, but
00:39 - 00:42
within with the h l C, they use the PM
00:42 - 00:45
system to determine the employee's value, and then they reward
00:46 - 00:47
based on progression with bonuses.
00:48 - 00:51
The issue with their system is employees do not feel
00:52 - 00:52
the system is fair.
00:53 - 00:56
And you can read between the lines on how they
00:56 - 00:58
they do the system and how they evaluate.
00:58 - 01:00
People are gonna go over here to the case study
01:00 - 01:03
first, um, where they make a comment, Um, he evaluates
01:04 - 01:10
focus, uh, evaluations focus on the extent to which the
01:10 - 01:13
member contributed to the design of the team they worked
01:13 - 01:15
on of the previous year.
01:15 - 01:16
Years. Um, year.
01:17 - 01:17
Excuse me.
01:17 - 01:21
all members are giving scores enlisted using the member's job
01:21 - 01:22
performance score.
01:22 - 01:26
Their names are place in one of three categories, and
01:27 - 01:28
it goes further to breaking down with those.
01:29 - 01:32
One of three categories are and you notice within the
01:32 - 01:33
one of three categories.
01:33 - 01:37
Of course, the top category receives the highest amount of
01:37 - 01:40
bonus, um, and then so on recognition and so on
01:40 - 01:41
and so forth.
01:41 - 01:44
But when you go back to the many different other
01:45 - 01:50
aspects of the presentation and then the other examples when
01:51 - 01:54
you're when you're dissecting it, how fair is the system?
01:55 - 01:59
Really? Because one if we're talking about the culture of
01:59 - 02:03
the organization, you know, um, and it to be a
02:03 - 02:03
learning organization.
02:04 - 02:10
Employees do not feel, uh, that they are receiving or
02:10 - 02:11
even the relationship building opponent.
02:11 - 02:15
Employees do not feel they are receiving, um, adequate amount
02:15 - 02:17
of time to even develop their skills.
02:18 - 02:21
Um, or when we're going back to the the other
02:22 - 02:29
components. Speaking about, um, how employees are participating or or
02:30 - 02:36
uh, taking on responsibilities that doesn't necessarily benefit or, um,
02:36 - 02:39
expand on their skills are doing administrative work rather than
02:39 - 02:41
doing design tax, you know.
02:41 - 02:43
So these many different things that you pull together.
02:43 - 02:47
And when you make that that general assumption, is the
02:47 - 02:48
system really fair?
02:48 - 02:51
And with their grading people on, are they actually giving
02:51 - 02:54
them the work, or are they actually allowing them or
02:54 - 02:57
for them the opportunity so that they may be able
02:57 - 02:59
to be graded on it?
03:00 - 03:02
So, um, they definitely have to change their performance rating
03:03 - 03:04
system and make it equitable across the board.
03:05 - 03:07
And that kind of gels together what they have to
03:08 - 03:11
give employees the opportunities to show what their what their
03:11 - 03:15
skills are and they appear to support section uh, is
03:15 - 03:19
that the right component where it's mentioning job satisfaction, which
03:19 - 03:22
is general reaction to the job environment and job itself
03:23 - 03:27
cannot be assessed independent from the individual success and employees
03:27 - 03:32
performance. So what does that necessarily saying, Um, you cannot
03:33 - 03:41
base a employees performance separate from the overall job environment,
03:41 - 03:45
and this is referring to, um, the job satisfaction of
03:45 - 03:45
the employee.
03:46 - 03:50
Um, however, when you really look into it, um, and
03:50 - 03:52
how I I interpret it and view it in the
03:52 - 03:56
sense of when you are measuring the performance of an
03:56 - 04:01
employee or, you know that plays a factor and one
04:01 - 04:06
how satisfied employees is with the overall, um, environment of
04:06 - 04:06
the job.
04:07 - 04:11
Um And so when you're when you're doing ratings and
04:11 - 04:19
determinations on if the employee is truly, um um, performing,
04:20 - 04:24
um, to to to the caliber which you want them
04:24 - 04:26
to to perform at it goes all the way back
04:26 - 04:26
to begin.
04:27 - 04:30
What is what is the, uh, the environment of the
04:30 - 04:31
job itself?
04:31 - 04:32
What is actually happening?
04:33 - 04:34
Uh, with what?
04:34 - 04:38
This employee, Um, and then assess it that way.
04:38 - 04:41
Um, and then the second component was employees need to
04:41 - 04:45
have an equitable workplace, um, where their work ought to
04:45 - 04:47
be recognized with, um, comparable results.
04:48 - 04:52
And that's essentially is, um, if if you or I
04:52 - 04:54
can use the example, it's my job, we do things
04:54 - 04:57
like, um, employee recognitions, um, and rewards.
04:58 - 05:01
Um, when someone completes a project or someone does something
05:02 - 05:04
substantial outside of their their day to day tasks there,
05:05 - 05:09
um, they are given an award of some sort, depending
05:09 - 05:11
on the caliber on the over challenge or the toughness
05:12 - 05:13
of the project or whatnot.
05:13 - 05:17
And so when in this case with these employees, if
05:18 - 05:21
they are working, they're overworked and they're doing all these
05:21 - 05:24
things, and they're not seeing an award that's adequate to
05:24 - 05:29
the work that they were doing your performance rating system.
05:29 - 05:31
You're really the questions we ask you.
05:31 - 05:32
What is your performance rating system?
05:33 - 05:35
Uh, what is it?
05:35 - 05:38
Measuring. You know, and and again, it comes back to,
05:39 - 05:43
um, there are these employees equipped or obvious employees given
05:43 - 05:44
the opportunity so that they may be measured?
05:45 - 05:50
Um, on this this, um, category of the overall performance
05:51 - 05:52
rating system.
05:53 - 05:54
So those are just some ways I feel it's so
05:55 - 05:57
the company can move forward, and then we're coming to
05:58 - 05:58
a conclusion.
05:59 - 06:02
Um, the way that the h l, uh, the house
06:02 - 06:05
of called a Chelsea company can transform the environment and
06:05 - 06:06
the culture of the organization.
06:07 - 06:08
One diversity.
06:08 - 06:12
They need to have, uh, more of a diverse It'll,
06:12 - 06:14
uh, a diverse.
06:15 - 06:18
It'll of fluidity kind of going through, um, their their
06:18 - 06:20
company. They need to see more men.
06:21 - 06:21
They need to see.
06:21 - 06:22
What do they need to see more women and you
06:23 - 06:23
see more.
06:23 - 06:24
They need to see a nice collection.
06:25 - 06:27
Um, of of things.
06:27 - 06:29
Again, it goes back to my reference of of the,
06:29 - 06:33
um the seafood role uh, you want to have a
06:33 - 06:36
collection of different things, and that's what makes it good.
06:36 - 06:37
That's what makes a company substantial.
06:38 - 06:42
That's what separates the company, um, from from its competitors,
06:43 - 06:46
um, developing a new rewards and performance rating system again,
06:47 - 06:51
giving people regular feedback and make the awards obtainable again
06:52 - 06:56
if the if the employee is not receiving challenges or
06:56 - 06:58
projects or opportunities to be able to be rewarded.
06:59 - 07:03
Um, how how can you really base your reward system
07:04 - 07:07
off something that, uh, the employees not able to do
07:08 - 07:09
or is not as frequent?
07:10 - 07:13
Uh, and then lastly, establishing a strong relationship amongst leadership
07:14 - 07:18
and, um, employees building that trust is So monuments was
07:18 - 07:22
sochi. Um, if they want to turn around, um, that
07:22 - 07:25
turnover they've been having, um and then if they also
07:25 - 07:29
want to develop a stronger report with with their employees,
07:29 - 07:35
so buy them, uh, integrating these these my suggestions, um,
07:35 - 07:37
again, it can decrease their turnover.
07:38 - 07:40
It could increase the morality of the company, and it
07:40 - 07:43
can improve the company's productivity so that the co founder
07:44 - 07:47
who's trying to retire soon, um, has a company that
07:47 - 07:49
he can look back at and be proud of because
07:49 - 07:51
it is successfully growing and expanding.
07:53 - 07:54
So these are my list of references.
07:55 - 07:57
Um, and I should have said this in the beginning.
07:57 - 08:02
Attached to this presentation is actually a set of notes
08:02 - 08:03
that run alongside the presentation.
08:04 - 08:07
Um, so I should have said this at the beginning.
08:08 - 08:10
Um, but that would actually give a nice synopsis.
08:11 - 08:14
Uh, that kind of goes alongside of each one of
08:14 - 08:19
these, Um, these these, uh, points I made within the
08:19 - 08:20
organization within the presentation.
08:20 - 08:21
Excuse me.
08:21 - 08:24
So thank you again so much for your time and
08:24 - 08:25
have a wonderful day.
