00:01 - 00:02
hello from Miss Brown.
00:02 - 00:04
I'm the seventh grade art teacher at Revere Middle School.
00:08 - 00:10
Welcome to my classroom, and I'm gonna teach you a
00:10 - 00:11
little bit about me first.
00:13 - 00:16
Here's a few things that you might notice right away.
00:18 - 00:20
I am the sponsor for the column Brush Club.
00:21 - 00:23
In that club, we do a little writing and illustrating,
00:24 - 00:27
kind of like you would see in mango books.
00:27 - 00:33
Comic books illustrated, you know, books for kids or even
00:34 - 00:38
things like my most recent project, which was a biography
00:38 - 00:41
of a famous artist that has a whole bunch of
00:41 - 00:42
pictures of her artwork in.
00:43 - 00:45
If you're interested in those things, my club is a
00:45 - 00:46
great place to go.
00:50 - 00:54
I have lots of cool hobbies, and one of them
00:54 - 00:58
includes driving wagons with horses.
00:59 - 01:01
I've actually driven a wagon across the Oregon Trail.
01:05 - 01:07
My pets are some of my fun in life.
01:08 - 01:10
I have horses and dogs and donkeys, and I even
01:10 - 01:12
had a pet hell monster once you might have to
01:12 - 01:13
look that up to see what it is.
01:14 - 01:15
It's kind of interesting.
01:18 - 01:20
I went to college at Sam Houston, but so did
01:21 - 01:23
my mother and my grandmother, and we all were are
01:23 - 01:27
just going to that school my grandmother even taught there.
01:30 - 01:33
I have a lot of family, but the closest would
01:33 - 01:33
be my dad.
01:35 - 01:38
My mother has passed on, but here's a great picture
01:39 - 01:42
of her and me together and my grandfather next to
01:42 - 01:45
that. My son Brian has a daughter now, and her
01:45 - 01:46
name is Lily.
01:46 - 01:47
She'll be three.
01:48 - 01:49
I'm certainly enjoyed being grandmother.
01:54 - 01:55
I have some roots in a Native American.
01:56 - 02:02
My actual family is from South Dakota and we're Rosebud,
02:02 - 02:03
Sioux Indian.
02:06 - 02:10
I've lived in a lot of different places, and I'm
02:10 - 02:11
not even sure.
02:11 - 02:12
But you might try and guess where I was born.
02:13 - 02:14
It might surprise you.
02:20 - 02:23
One of my favorite things are My Jeeps, which I
02:23 - 02:31
have been driving Jeeps for Amber and my Art studio
02:32 - 02:37
slash Mobile Home is an RV, a 44 ft toy
02:37 - 02:40
hauler, which the back of is my little art studio
02:40 - 02:42
that you'll see me working in from home while we're
02:43 - 02:43
distance learning.
02:44 - 02:46
It's got lots of room for me to do all
02:46 - 02:49
kinds of art projects and fun, and I have taken
02:49 - 02:51
it to 13 states in the last year.
02:52 - 02:55
That's like going to a different state every month I've
02:55 - 02:57
been all over the place, up and down mountains to
02:57 - 03:03
the ocean back now, when you come in my room,
03:04 - 03:07
you might notice things like the color wheel, which is
03:07 - 03:08
an obvious art thing.
03:08 - 03:11
But we do a lot of stuff, Uh, in my
03:12 - 03:14
room. We're gonna use class craft, which is a really
03:14 - 03:18
cool game that you can do question, and the quest
03:19 - 03:21
will be ways to learn about art.
03:22 - 03:25
You'll have a character that you'll create and you'll be
03:25 - 03:27
able to upgrade your character as you learn and do
03:28 - 03:28
things in class.
03:32 - 03:36
And we will also learn about the elements of our
03:36 - 03:40
how to draw paint do sculptures a little bit of
03:40 - 03:42
everything. But I do want your input on what you
03:42 - 03:45
want to learn so that we can hear this towards
03:45 - 03:49
you, and we'll work together to create around rules and
03:49 - 03:50
interest as we do this.
03:53 - 03:56
The elements of art are the foundation of arch, and
03:56 - 04:00
that's what's gonna help you to learn and grow in
04:00 - 04:04
your own art, regardless of what level you think you're
04:04 - 04:07
at. And if you're a little bit scared and don't
04:07 - 04:09
know how to do things, that's what I'm there for.
04:09 - 04:10
I'm gonna teach you how to do things.
04:10 - 04:12
I could teach you how to draw step by step.
04:13 - 04:16
I can teach you how to use different materials and
04:16 - 04:18
creative and unique ways.
04:19 - 04:21
And we do a lot of recycling and up cycling
04:22 - 04:24
in my class to where we use things that you
04:24 - 04:27
would normally they're away or fine, you know, random giveaways
04:29 - 04:31
so that we're being more creative with our art and
04:32 - 04:32
more responsible.
04:33 - 04:36
We also learned about artists like Ed Moughniyah livers who
04:36 - 04:38
had just wrote a book about It was a very
04:38 - 04:39
interesting person.
04:41 - 04:43
Hope to see there have a good time.
