  8. the context off personal social health, education.

  10. What you probably already know from your experience of those
  11. classes is that they are very wide ranging.
  12. It seems as if there's no subject that can't come
  13. up under P S H e on that sort of
  14. is, ah, definition of what my life has been involved
  15. in some until a little bit about my background.
  16. Um, the the first thing to say is that I
  17. was educated in India as well as in England.

  19. I have all my life had a passion for crickets,
  20. and this picture just shows you sort of dirt tracks
  21. that we played on in very, very hot environments where
  22. often there was no grass at all and there were
  23. no downloads of games or going on sort aimlessly.
  24. So it was great fun.
  25. My education was really defined not just by my love

  31. That's where minding can.
  32. My family's link with the West Country began because when
  33. we came back from India as a family, they will
  34. came and lived to me in the West Country, which
  35. would be dispersed throughout parts off a country.

  38. going to go to university, I knew I was going
  39. to do that.
  40. And I have thought about all sorts of different things.
  41. But I ended up reading sociology, and the reason I

  43. In the sense that my interests were so wide, I
  44. wasn't quite sure whether I wanted to do law or
  45. medicine or read history or whatever on when it came
  46. to it.
  47. I actually went for sociology on the basis that I
  48. didn't know.
  49. Well, unless it Waas.

  51. But it worked really well for me and I loved
  52. my degree on dhe.
  53. I have felt that he, in spite of not doing
  54. brilliantly universe, you have continued studying, um, issues around people,
  55. in societies and in organisations all of my career.
  56. My career started actually in the aviation industry.
  57. I took this picture because when I was a child
  58. flying between India onto the UK, this view was something
  59. I loved being very, very high up above the clouds,
  60. sometimes even seeing the Himalayas.

  62. have this picture of an airplane wing and on engine
  63. on the first company.

  65. spent about six years there in a number of different
  66. jobs, from human resources to sales to marketing.
  67. And I also worked for the big boss.
  68. And again, I put some of the diversity of what
  69. happened in the early part of my career and indeed
  70. for the rest of my career, down to this sort
  71. of curiosities interest in lots of different things again, back
  72. toe, he s h e A lot of money career
  73. has been spent in officers on.
  74. I just got this high rise one as an example
  75. of the sorts of places that I've worked, which included
  76. Shell on PwC KPMG, a couple of large accounting firms
  77. actual so involved in in accountancy.
