  1. Okay, get on.
  2. That is working.
  3. Can you go take care of yourself?
  4. Just a little bit.
  5. All right.
  6. Thank you.
  7. I love you.
  8. No, she's not home.
  9. Baby girl, can you go play in Rory's room, please?
  10. Now, right, Go.
  11. Okay. Play in your room.
  12. That's fine.
  13. All right.
  14. So you might notice Background change rocking the hat.
  15. I am at home.
  16. Um, I promise we actually got it done in school,
  17. but somebody had technical difficulties and couldn't figure out how
  18. to save part two of our video.
  19. So we get to do it again.
  20. Or rather, I get kind of get to do it
  21. again. I messed up my part so well, messed it
  22. up. You know, I just didn't figure out to save
  23. it. So, anyways, I do get the pleasure and the
  24. opportunity and the honor of introducing and kind of talking
  25. about our seniors a little bit.
  26. We have seniors that have run one year all the
  27. way through seniors that have run all four years.
  28. And regardless, we are excited toe share these nine individuals
  29. with you because we think they're pretty special.
  30. All right.
  31. First up is Irena haunt Andi.
  32. She is our actual lone female senior, uh, Irene her
  33. in for two years.
  34. She was playing valuable before that, and we begged her
  35. for it.
  36. Took two years to kind of get her to come
  37. out for cross country, but we're extremely glad that she
  38. did. Um, e Irene is a fun, talkative, lighthearted, uh,
  39. you know, individual person, that at the same time, when
  40. it's time to get down to business and really work
  41. hard, we can count on her to really do that.
  42. So, um, Irene has been on our varsity squad.
  43. She's been, you know, a major contributor to the the
  44. girls team and how they have been doing as a
  45. collective unit.
  46. And so, I mean, we're gonna miss Irena the athlete.
  47. But more than anything, we're just gonna miss Irena the
  48. person, because, you know, I mean, just no one's quite
  49. like arena.
  50. So, Arena, Thank you.
  51. We're gonna miss You were excited to kind of see
  52. what you do in the future.
  53. Both in the spring, on the track, and then kind
  54. of beyond that, because I think you might have some
  55. aspirations of going beyond to So, Arena.
  56. Thank you.
  57. All right, now we're into our fellas.
  58. First up is Brett Borinquen.
  59. Brett ran for two years.
  60. We didn't get him till he was a junior either.
  61. Bretz, been on our varsity squad both year has been
  62. extremely consistent.
  63. Just a great attitude when it comes to training.
  64. And Justin, I may again, he's kind of been right
  65. there as our number four number five, number six runner,
  66. contributing to team scores and really pushing and making sure
  67. that as a collective group in a unit, uh, a
  68. ZX good as we could be in as a coach.
  69. You know, that's again something that we really, really want
  70. to see.
  71. Um, yes, we like good athletes, but we we like
  72. better people more and breast.
  73. Just one of those people that is gonna make the
  74. other people around them better.
  75. So, Brett, thank you.
  76. Just like Arena.
  77. We're excited to kind of see what you do in
  78. spring and then, you know, as you can as you
  79. continue to grow.
  80. Alright. Next is Joel Joel.
  81. Alright. So Joel is This was trolls first year, and
  82. this has been a work in progress.
  83. Uh, I remember actually hearing about Cole doing the treadmill
  84. test when He was a freshman, and I have been
  85. on Shoal E.
  86. Okay? And I have been on Shoal for the last
  87. three years, and we finally got him out.
  88. And it's been, you know, honestly, a blessing to have
  89. him. Um, Scholes, you know, an extremely committed person on
  90. our team.
  91. Um, he showed up all summer long, all season long,
  92. and you know, e mean varsity runner in his first
  93. year is isn't something that always happens.
  94. But, um got it done because you know, those other
  95. qualities like that the hard worker and and being committed
  96. and dedicated and and sacrificing so that he could be
  97. the best, you know, athlete it could be.
  98. And that's I mean, that's exciting to see, because that's
  99. just indicative of the type of person that the choices
  100. and is going to be as he continues to grow.
  101. So, Choule, we're glad that you came out.
  102. Thank you for coming out.
  103. And we're excited to kind of see where you go
  104. and grow as you go from here.
  105. So awesome.
  106. Thank you both.
  107. Alright. Next is no.
  108. Okay. No.
  109. Has been on our team for three years.
  110. Are one off year was actually our sophomore year, but
  111. I think that had to do more with a broken
  112. foot in there.
  113. So but Noah's I mean, I think something said when
  114. you break your foot and you still come back and
  115. continue, continue to run the nothing's going to stop him.
  116. And that's an extremely inspiring e mean coming back from
  117. an injury like that.
  118. It tze not easy And it's not something that no,
  119. I had to dio but he chose to do it
  120. and he did it really well.
  121. Um and that's I mean, I think that says every
  122. anything you need to say that nothing is going to
  123. stop Noah and he's gonna get the work done.
  124. And word just gonna take care of business.
  125. No, no matter what that means.
  126. And that's something that no exemplified.
  127. And, you know, we're glad that he was here Toe
  128. set, that example for the younger kids and and doing
  129. in doing that.
  130. So, Noah, thank you were excited to see what you
  131. do the spring and then, you know, even more than
  132. that kind of seeing you grow as you continue to
  133. grow into the young man and, you know, full adult
  134. that that you're going to in the near future.
  135. So, Noah, thank you and looking forward to seeing what
  136. you do in the future.
  137. Alright, next is Elliot five.
  138. Elliott is a four year runner.
  139. We have three of them this year.
  140. And I mean, really, it's kind of the first, the
  141. first of I mean in our list, at least.
  142. And, uh oh, at least just an extremely hard worker.
  143. Um, he's one of those guys that has a goal
  144. in any works.
  145. Tirelessly to kind of go after and get it on
  146. dhe. Then the other thing that just a quick story
  147. about Elliot really fast.
  148. Um, if someone ever doesn't show up with shoes, Elliott
  149. is gonna be the first person that I think of.
  150. Um, I'm Elliot.
  151. Never forget what's not true.
  152. Sometimes we would forget our shoes, but we never showed
  153. up with our shoes on.
  154. I mean, I'm I'm amazed how we remember our shoes
  155. as often as we did while still never wearing them.
  156. I mean, it's not something that I could do, but
  157. despite that, just, uh, it's I mean, it's gonna be
  158. one of those athletes that we remember for a really
  159. long time.
  160. Um, not just kind of for the fun stories, but
  161. because he is such a hard worker and he's committed
  162. to being the best person in the best athletes that
  163. he could be and were excited to kind of see
  164. where that takes him in life, because we think it
  165. will take him pretty far.
  166. So, Elliott, thank you for setting that example and looking
  167. forward to kind of see what you do in the
  168. future. Alright, next is Franklin.
  169. Franklin is a three year runner.
  170. Kind of like, No, our sophomore year was our year
  171. that we didn't run.
  172. Not sure, really.
  173. Why? But we're glad that he came back to us
  174. as a junior and, uh, Franklin's one of those guys
  175. that it exemplifies the idea that hard work pays off.
  176. Franklin got faster every single year, and actually, the time
  177. that you kind of see their form 17 13 is
  178. in our all time top 20.
  179. Andi e think that's Ah, I think that's a pretty
  180. big accomplishment, Franklin.
  181. You're faster than I I ever was in high school
  182. and you know that I was the best around the
  183. world. But I mean, I think I turned out.
  184. Okay, So, um Franklin, thank you for setting that example.
  185. Thank you for working hard and being dedicated to improving
  186. yourself and sacrificing for that.
  187. Uh, that's the best example it is.
  188. And those real life examples are priceless.
  189. And so yeah, I mean, it's gonna be extremely hard
  190. to replace that hard work ethic it, but we're excited
  191. for and, you know, thankful that you were there to
  192. provide it.
  193. So excited to see what you this spring.
  194. And then, you know, as you continue to grow into
  195. the young man that you are, it's it's gonna be
  196. fun to watch, so thank you, Franklin.
  197. Alright. Next is Bromwell Cost guy.
  198. Okay. Bromwell is our second four year cross country runner,
  199. and, uh, he's another one of those guys.
  200. It's just I mean, I say it a lot, but
  201. these every all these athletes are extremely dedicated.
  202. They're all hard working.
  203. I mean, they're just great individuals and the same traits
  204. that have made them successful.
  205. Distance runners were gonna make them even more successful people
  206. and business or education or whatever field they decided to
  207. go in for for their lives and it zone honor
  208. to be a small part of that.
  209. Bromwell is You know, one of those guys I mean,
  210. think he's competed or been an alternative state meet all
  211. four years of high school.
  212. His PR 16 06 ranks in the top five all
  213. time, Um, at a lathe north.
  214. Extremely talented person.
  215. Um, not just in running, but more so just as
  216. an individual.
  217. And we're really, really, really excited to see where he
  218. goes from here.
  219. Because, I mean, I think there's a lot of bright
  220. things in your future, kiddo.
  221. And and I'm just happy to be there for a
  222. small part of it.
  223. So Bram Oh, thank you for being the example that
  224. you are and for working hard and doing everything you
  225. can to make yourself a better person athlete.
  226. Okay, next is Karen Marker.
  227. Um, Karen is a three year cross country runner.
  228. Um, and Karen exemplifies really what it means to e
  229. work hard.
  230. Seriously, uh, during Karen's first year across country to this
  231. last one, Karen had PR or has a difference of
  232. over 10 minutes from that first year across country to
  233. his senior year, and that's just from putting in work.
  234. Karen routinely went farther than we asked him to go
  235. just because he wanted to get better on DOT.
  236. That's not a bad thing.
  237. It's just the idea is that Karen was going to
  238. He was going to get better and it's through hard
  239. work and dedication and, you know, just willfully making sure
  240. that he improved Karen, that that's amazing.
  241. And it's gonna be missed.
  242. And thank you for that example for all these younger
  243. ghettos, Uh, it's something that it's extremely valuable and is
  244. a coaching staff.
  245. We appreciate you.
  246. All right.
  247. So, Karen, excited to see where you go from here
  248. on. Thank you.
  249. And last but not least, Kyle Kyle's our last four
  250. year cross country runner.
  251. M. When Kyle first got here is a freshman, he
  252. wouldn't say anything.
  253. Uh, like nothing.
  254. Um, and now we say a little bit more.
  255. We're not incredibly talkative, but we smile a lot, and,
  256. uh, it's been a joy to kind of watch Kyle
  257. grow, and not just as an athlete, but as an
  258. individual. And, um, you know, become the young man that
  259. he is, uh, in terms of the athletes Sidek.
  260. I'll just quietly got his work done.
  261. Um, it wasn't We never complained way never, you know,
  262. argue anything.
  263. It was just I'm gonna go get it done, and
  264. I'm gonna do it the best way that I can,
  265. and that's that's awesome.
  266. So, Kyle, thank you for being that example.
  267. Thank you for letting us be a part of your
  268. life is you grow and we're excited to really see
  269. where you go from here, so thank you.
  270. Car. All right.
  271. That was all of our seniors.
  272. Last thing that we get to talk about our there's
  273. a couple of special recognitions.
  274. We actually have three of them on dhe.
  275. That's, uh let's just get to it.
  276. All right?
  277. All right.
  278. First. Hey, we got some state qualifiers.
  279. This was the girls team we have just from left
  280. to right.
  281. We have shade.
  282. Johnson, Irena, Honk, Lexi, Doc.
  283. Sadder Angelie ha!
  284. Cursing Carol Musburger, Kelly bobbin.
  285. And how we hear in those seven ladies were the
  286. runners up at the league meet runners up with the
  287. regional meet and then third place at the state meet.
  288. Um, and that's pretty darn big accomplishment on then.
  289. Like y'all the young lady right there in middle Anjali
  290. was obviously the state champion.
  291. And that is a huge, huge, huge deal, too.
  292. Um, next, we had two boys qualified for the state
  293. meet. Um, that was Bromwell Cost guy and Josh Caldwell
  294. on dhe.
  295. Those guys, you know, I mean, earned the right to
  296. go on computers, individuals.
  297. The team was fourth and didn't quite make it.
  298. But those two ran well enough.
  299. And what I think was the toughest regional, too.
  300. Qualify individually.
  301. And then they got to go represent themselves in the
  302. north of the at the state meet.
  303. So thes were are regional all region athletes that qualified
  304. for the state meet, and then we kind already set
  305. up before.
  306. But Anjali was the state champion.
  307. This is the first state champion in Olathe North history,
  308. male or female on Dhe.
  309. I think there's some bright things in the future for
  310. the for Anjali, but we're gonna work our tail off
  311. to make sure that we, you know, keep going and
  312. doing that kind of stuff.
  313. So, um, congratulations to all those guys that it is
  314. a big deal.
  315. All right, Next.
  316. Okay. When I go, you're gonna know exactly what it
  317. is. but our inner squad team champions are team chickens.
  318. I don't know why the name team chickens, and that's
  319. what they came up with.
  320. Okay, Now we did a series of, you know, inter
  321. squad like activities throughout the course of the year, and
  322. these guys were the team champions, all right?
  323. And team chickens.
  324. Do you know what you have?
  325. One. Yes.
  326. You have won this shirt.
  327. Yeah, I hear it retails for millions of dollars.
  328. Yeah, get excited.
  329. We'll get that to you shortly, but congratulations.
  330. Alright. And then the really the kind of the big
  331. award that we give every year is called the extra
  332. mile award on both and usually what it is, it
  333. doesn't mean the person that runs the most or is
  334. necessarily the fastest.
  335. It's just the idea is the person who does things
  336. the right way, goes above and beyond, to be a
  337. great example for everyone else and is overall just goes
  338. the extra mile.
  339. I mean, usually figuratively So anyways are two winners this
  340. year, and it really did exemplify that the attitude and
  341. effort on dhe just not letting anything get in their
  342. way. So they are for the ladies bobbin.
  343. And for the fellas, Dimitri Serrano.
  344. So, um, again, we're extremely proud of these guys.
  345. We thought they were excellent role models and examples for
  346. everyone else on the team.
  347. And, you know, we couldn't be prouder to kind of
  348. recognize them as our extra mile award winners and guys.
  349. That's it.
  350. We did it.
  351. Hey, always compete.
  352. Thank you.
  353. Um, we love you were excited to get going next
  354. year already thinking about it, and we're ready to rock
  355. and roll.
