00:01 - 00:01
high grade force.
00:02 - 00:04
I hope that you are all well and ready and
00:04 - 00:06
raring for your spelling activity tonight.
00:07 - 00:10
Today it is Mrs Bond's delivering your online.
00:11 - 00:13
Listen, I'm really looking forward to doing this.
00:14 - 00:14
Be warned.
00:14 - 00:16
I am still learning about how to use all of
00:16 - 00:17
these things.
00:17 - 00:18
So if things go wrong, be patient.
00:20 - 00:21
All right, let's get sausage.
00:23 - 00:26
So this week I have been doing a lot of
00:26 - 00:29
exploring. As you all know, I am crazy about books.
00:30 - 00:31
So I've been looking at lots and lots of books
00:32 - 00:33
on doing a little bit of shopping.
00:34 - 00:36
And one of the books that I came across as
00:36 - 00:39
I was exploring this week was a fantastic book quarter,
00:39 - 00:41
unfortunately, which is written by Alan Durant.
00:42 - 00:46
And it's all about a little boy who gets himself
00:46 - 00:47
into quite a few adventures.
00:48 - 00:52
And as I was reading this book, I noticed two
00:53 - 00:54
words coming up quite frequently.
00:55 - 00:57
You're gonna look at the book now, and I wonder
00:57 - 01:01
if you'll notice these two words that I noticed because
01:02 - 01:04
they did keep popping up and they were really important
01:04 - 01:05
to the story.
01:05 - 01:07
So as you're listening to the story, I want you
01:07 - 01:09
to be thinking about the true words that you think
01:09 - 01:10
I might have noticed.
01:15 - 01:18
So now that we've watched the story, I wonder, did
01:18 - 01:20
you notice those three words that I did?
01:22 - 01:24
In case you're wondering the note the words I was
01:24 - 01:27
thinking off with the words fortunately, and unfortunately.
01:29 - 01:32
And as I was thinking about those two words, I
01:33 - 01:38
was really thinking about the impact that to re lectures
01:39 - 01:41
on can have on a word.
01:42 - 01:44
And that's really where we're going to start out thinking
01:45 - 01:46
today, start out learning.
01:49 - 01:52
Today we're going to be thinking about what we already
01:52 - 01:53
know about prefixes.
01:54 - 01:56
Now, I've kind of given you a little bit of
01:56 - 02:00
a hint with my thinking about those two words from
02:01 - 02:06
the story, Fortunately, and unfortunately, in what a prefix might
02:06 - 02:08
pay. But today you guys are going to be doing
02:09 - 02:10
a bit of a knowledge harvest.
02:11 - 02:15
That's when we find out everything that you already know
02:15 - 02:17
and that helps us know where we need to go
02:18 - 02:18
next without learning.
02:19 - 02:21
So today you guys are going to be doing a
02:21 - 02:24
little quiz arm all about prefixes.
02:25 - 02:28
Now, I've taken a screenshot off part of that quiz
02:29 - 02:31
just to talk you through how we're going to answer.
02:32 - 02:35
So in the quiz, there are a few questions, and
02:35 - 02:38
each of these questions is what we call a short
02:38 - 02:42
answer question, where we write a few words to explain
02:42 - 02:43
our thinking.
02:44 - 02:46
So the first question is, what is a prefix?
02:47 - 02:51
So you have to, if you can tell me water
02:51 - 02:54
prefix is, and if you can't, that's okay, too.
02:54 - 02:56
If you don't know the answer to any of these
02:56 - 02:59
questions, that's great, because that tells me exactly where we
02:59 - 03:00
need to start our learning.
03:02 - 03:04
There will be some other questions that ask you about
03:04 - 03:07
what the meaning over prefixes so you can see that
03:07 - 03:10
there's one on my screenshot what does the prefix by
03:11 - 03:14
me. So you'll have to think about if what meaning
03:15 - 03:16
that prefix has.
03:17 - 03:18
If I put it the start of the word what
03:19 - 03:19
what does it do?
03:21 - 03:23
And then there's some other questions that ask you if
03:23 - 03:27
you can think off words that have certain prefixes in
03:28 - 03:30
them. So, for example, the question that I have screen
03:30 - 03:33
shotted these 10 you think of some words that use
03:33 - 03:34
the prefix try.
03:34 - 03:37
So in your answer, you would just type those words
03:38 - 03:38
now learners.
03:39 - 03:41
It's really important that you're showing us what you know.
03:42 - 03:44
So have a got doing this by yourself.
03:45 - 03:46
If you need help from Mom or Dad reading questions,
03:47 - 03:47
that's fine.
03:48 - 03:50
But I really want to see the answers that you're
03:51 - 03:51
thinking off and remember.
03:52 - 03:55
It's OK if you don't know the answer, because that
03:55 - 03:58
just tells me exactly where just started learning the next
03:58 - 03:58
time we get together.
03:59 - 04:02
So when you go on to your slides, you will
04:02 - 04:05
see that there is a link through the quiz online.
04:06 - 04:08
So have a click on that and show me what
04:09 - 04:11
you know about prefixes, and I look forward to seeing
04:11 - 04:11
you also.
