00:01 - 00:02
Good morning, everyone.
00:03 - 00:06
And special reading store six form school leavers and my
00:06 - 00:08
congratulations to you this morning.
00:09 - 00:11
I'm so sorry that I'm not able to be with
00:11 - 00:12
you physically this morning.
00:13 - 00:15
But please know that you are in my thoughts.
00:16 - 00:19
There is so much that is strange and knew about
00:19 - 00:23
these last few months that by no strange and new
00:23 - 00:25
may not even scare us anymore.
00:26 - 00:28
And so even as I address you by distance this
00:29 - 00:32
morning and we may feel a little discomforted by the
00:32 - 00:35
strangeness of it I give thanks to God that in
00:35 - 00:38
such a time as this the support available bad advancements
00:39 - 00:42
in technology facilitate this mood of addressing you.
00:43 - 00:50
These are indeed exciting times called in 19 is disrupting
00:51 - 00:57
systems around the world, redefining work, school, church friendship and
00:57 - 00:58
all other social interactions.
01:00 - 01:03
The global landscape has changed and will continue to change
01:04 - 01:06
as we adapt to the reality off this pandemic.
01:08 - 01:12
But know this you are stronger than this pandemic and
01:12 - 01:14
I invite you and encourage you to reap its benefits.
01:16 - 01:17
Benefits you might ask Yes.
01:18 - 01:23
Benefits. The earth thrived when we were locked away at
01:23 - 01:27
home. Can we innovate to share the earth with other
01:28 - 01:30
living things that it continues to recover from the onslaught
01:31 - 01:31
of man.
01:33 - 01:36
The positive use of technology in education increased.
01:37 - 01:41
Can we build that while we work to remove inequity
01:41 - 01:43
for the poor who are not able to exploit the
01:43 - 01:49
benefits of technology or dependence on certain types of income
01:50 - 01:53
have been highlighted as those sources were lost.
01:54 - 01:58
Can we fortify our country by innovating new sources of
01:58 - 02:05
income? These are not easy questions, and they might not
02:05 - 02:06
be questions at a school.
02:07 - 02:07
Evil can answer.
02:09 - 02:11
And so here is my challenge to you.
02:12 - 02:13
Don't be a school leaver.
02:15 - 02:16
Study beyond the building.
02:17 - 02:19
Learn beyond the campus.
02:20 - 02:21
Grow beyond the classroom.
02:22 - 02:23
Be a life long learner.
02:25 - 02:30
Continue your schooling formally and informally, passionately learned all that
02:30 - 02:33
you can and then use that learning in big ways
02:33 - 02:37
to fix the world or theme for the twin to
02:38 - 02:40
2020 21 School year says it all.
02:42 - 02:45
Learn, grow, adapt the future.
02:46 - 02:48
The present demands it.
02:51 - 02:53
I close this morning with a caution.
02:55 - 02:58
As we learn, grow and adapt, we become more creative,
02:59 - 03:02
innovative and self reliance all very good things.
03:03 - 03:06
We may, however, be tempted to forget the author and
03:07 - 03:07
finisher of our lives.
03:09 - 03:11
So I want to encourage you to see cold and
03:11 - 03:12
remain in the will of God.
03:13 - 03:17
Your best self your greatest poet positively transform the world
03:18 - 03:22
is to be phoned in Michael six Verse eight where
03:22 - 03:26
it tells us he has shown you, O man, what
03:26 - 03:28
is good and what does the Lord require of you
03:29 - 03:32
but to do justly to love mercy and to walk
03:32 - 03:33
humbly with your God.
03:35 - 03:38
And so this morning as I close, I want to
03:38 - 03:44
encourage you again to learn, grow, adapt be Just be
03:44 - 03:49
merciful Walk humbly with God and change the world May
03:49 - 03:50
God bless you all.
