  1. Okay. Hello.
  2. Okay, um, so we're going to talk about oxygen.
  3. Um, everybody needs oxygen plants.
  4. Release oxygen, oxygen so that humans can breathe oxygen in,
  5. um, plants do that through something called photosynthesis.
  6. Um, so, uh, fires, wildfires, people tearing forests down.
  7. Deforestation in general, um, is ah, it's a major issue
  8. when it comes to plants being able to release oxygen
  9. on get CO two out of the air, uh, to
  10. make it easier for people to breathe and so that
  11. plants to can, uh, go through photosynthesis and keep themselves
  12. alive. Alive as well.
  13. Um, so my experiment focused on deforestation and the effects
  14. that it has on the CO two levels in the
  15. atmosphere. Um, And how, um, how Plants can't go through
  16. photosynthesis, Um, in in big enough numbers to make a
  17. big impact on the co two levels in the air
  18. if all of them are being cut down or burnt
  19. down in the forests across the world.
  20. So, um, the experiment, the human issue was deforestation, and
  21. I was focusing on the levels of co two, obviously
  22. compared to the amount of plants, um, the ivy was
  23. Thea mount of plants and the d V was the
  24. amount of CO two still left in the air?
  25. Uh, my control variable was type the types of plants
  26. on dhe.
  27. Then my, uh, experimental control group was, ah, full group
  28. of plants that was not touched or taken from in
  29. any way.
  30. Um so the hypothesis was that more plant more plants
  31. that are taken away from, ah, grouping of plants.
  32. The more co two is left in there because there
  33. aren't enough plans to, um, make oxygen, uh, in that
  34. specific area.
  35. So Group one of plants would be like a group
  36. of four or five flowers put in a box that
  37. were watered and had a heat lamp on them each
  38. day on Dhe.
  39. That group would have one plant, one flower pod taken
  40. from it each day.
  41. Um, for a week or however long on group to
  42. would be the same exact group.
  43. Except, um, except none of them would be taken away.
  44. They would all be.
  45. It would all be left there and watered with the
  46. heat lamp, et cetera.
  47. So the materials would be We would need 10 small
  48. flowers, flower pods to heat lamps, uh, two boxes.
  49. Water, obviously and then to co two gas detection tubes
  50. with their pumps.
  51. Um, so mhm.
  52. Let's go now to we did the hypothesis.
  53. We did our materials.
  54. And now, uh, let's go through the procedure.
  55. So Step one is placed five flower containers in each
  56. box close together, then in both boxes.
  57. Turn on the heat lamp and point it.
  58. Make sure that it's facing towards the towards the bunch
  59. of flowers.
  60. Eso that they're all receiving sunlight.
  61. Um, in both boxes.
  62. Water the flowers thing.
  63. You want to take out the test tube and make
  64. sure that the pump is attached.
  65. After that, connect the air tube to the pump syringe
  66. and break off.
  67. Break each end off of the carbon dioxide tube.
  68. Push the air tube over the test tube and make
  69. sure that the airflow arrow is pointing towards the connected
  70. end of the tube.
  71. Slowly pull the syringe back to 100 million later, mark
  72. and hold for 1 to 2 minutes and then read
  73. the tube immediately after.
  74. Um, try not to breathe near the two of all.
  75. You're taking the measurement because you'll throw off the levels
  76. of CO.
  77. Two um, records.
  78. The number of results in a Google doc or a
  79. notebook or whatever you're using to take notes and then
  80. repeat, um, for the measurement, um, for box number two
  81. on record box.
  82. Whose results, then?
  83. Leave it overnight.
  84. Uh, come back the next day and watering the plants
  85. again. Check the CO two levels again, um, in each
  86. box, and then record your newest data and try toe
  87. notice whether or not whether the co two levels have
  88. gone up if they've gone down or if they stayed
  89. the same since the day before, Um, so then you're
  90. gonna You're gonna want to remove soil pod from box
  91. number one, take one out, and then just leave it
  92. again. Leave them both until the next day on.
  93. Then when you come back the next day, repeat the
  94. previous five steps until there are there are no more
  95. plants left in box one.
  96. Um, analyze the data and decide whether the loss of
  97. plants increased the co two on decreased the amount of
  98. photosynthesis happening.
  99. Um and so I mean, you know, that's that's pretty
  100. much it after that.
  101. You know, the whole point of the experiment is thio
  102. make people aware that deforestation can severely affect the levels
  103. of CO two in the atmosphere.
  104. And also, especially the Austrian, that people need to live
  105. as well.
  106. Um, so, um but yeah.
  107. I mean, that's pretty much it, and thanks.
