00:01 - 00:01
Hi there.
00:02 - 00:04
Welcome to the Rapid fat Loss program.
00:05 - 00:08
Please remember to download your daily journal for week one.
00:09 - 00:12
You will be filling it in everyday and sending the
00:12 - 00:15
completed journal to me on Sunday May 16.
00:16 - 00:19
Before we begin, I would like to just tell you
00:19 - 00:22
a little bit about myself and my approach to this
00:22 - 00:26
program. So my name is Colin and I'm currently completing
00:27 - 00:29
my Master of science in holistic nutrition.
00:30 - 00:32
The word holistic is very important.
00:34 - 00:36
It comes from the word hole is um which means
00:37 - 00:40
to look at something as a whole instead of as
00:40 - 00:45
having separate parts, the medical community up until now has
00:46 - 00:52
believed that every aspect of health is separate and what
00:52 - 00:55
happens in one part of your body can't affect what's
00:55 - 00:57
happening in another part of your body.
00:59 - 01:02
This has proved to be a very inefficient way of
01:02 - 01:06
treating disease because you are treating symptoms instead of root
01:06 - 01:11
causes. Now, the medical community is shifting towards a more
01:11 - 01:17
holistic approach where we recognize that a physical health, mental
01:17 - 01:21
health and spiritual health are actually tightly connected and what's
01:22 - 01:24
happening in one part of your body can actually be
01:25 - 01:26
affected by what's happening in another part.
01:28 - 01:31
For example, if you go to a psychiatrist because you're
01:31 - 01:37
feeling depressed, you might be prescribed antidepressants, although this makes
01:37 - 01:38
you feel less depressed.
01:40 - 01:43
The actual cause of your depression has not been addressed
01:44 - 01:48
and this is an issue and it's almost like an
01:48 - 01:49
iceberg scenario.
01:50 - 01:55
The tip of the iceberg is diseases, common diseases like
01:55 - 02:01
arthritis, diabetes, cancer, obesity, osteoporosis, autoimmune diseases and depression.
02:03 - 02:07
But if you look closely, the issue is not the
02:07 - 02:10
tip of the iceberg, the issue is the underlying causes
02:11 - 02:18
things like toxic chemical exposure, toxic emotions, digestive dysfunction, inflammation,
02:19 - 02:20
hormonal imbalances.
02:21 - 02:24
If we do not treat the root cause of the
02:24 - 02:27
problem, we will not solve the problem.
