  1. Hello, everyone.
  2. Welcome to a new week.
  3. I hope you have a great weekend and are ready
  4. to start the week fresh.
  5. Okay, So thinking of another one of our school values
  6. today you can see next to me there that I've
  7. put our value.
  8. L is for loving.
  9. So this is a huge, huge value.
  10. Eso I'm just going thio start picking apart a tiny
  11. bit of it today.
  12. So if I click on there we go.
  13. First of all, I'd like you to think about who
  14. do you love?
  15. Mhm. Okay.
  16. It might be your family, your friends, your pets.
  17. I think that those Airil certainly in my list.
  18. I also want you to think about what do you
  19. love about our world?
  20. To spend a few minutes thinking about our natural world?
  21. What are the things that you love now?
  22. I love being outside and I love trees I love.
  23. I love at the moment the crunchy leaves on the
  24. ground. I do quite like it in the mornings when
  25. when the grounds covered with frost I think that's really,
  26. really beautiful.
  27. Now, today I'm going thio tell you a story.
  28. It wasn't the story I plans that book seems to
  29. have been hiding from me this morning.
  30. But I'm going to share this book with you on
  31. this. Christopher nibble on what this book tells you about
  32. is about how perhaps part of the natural world had
  33. been taken for granted.
  34. Andi things needed to change site.
  35. Okay, we dio if there was one thing that Christopher
  36. nibble loved more than football, it was eating dandelion leaves.
  37. He ate dandelion leaves at breakfast time.
  38. He ate them at lunch time.
  39. He ate them at dinner.
  40. Time on If Christopher felt peckish between meals, you could
  41. guess, can't you?
  42. He ate dandelion leaves, but it was not just Christopher
  43. who, like Dandelion leaves Mr and Mrs Nibble like tthe
  44. um his sister like them.
  45. His friends like them.
  46. In fact, every guinea pig in Dandy ville loved dandelion
  47. leaves All day long, the happy sound of munching filled
  48. the air.
  49. Until, that is, dandelion leaves began to run out.
  50. You see there the menus had to be changed.
  51. Dandelion dishes were taken off.
  52. Menus on dandelion drinks disappeared from shelves.
  53. The last few leaves could be bought on the internet
  54. at an astronomical price soon.
  55. The worst thing imaginable happened all over town.
  56. The dandelions had bean munch to nothing, then bitten down
  57. stalks on the guinea Pigs had to make do with
  58. chewing on cabbage instead.
  59. E wonder how they how they let the dandelions get
  60. to that stage.
  61. Just one dandelion was left on.
  62. Nobody knew about it except for Christopher Nibble.
  63. It happened to be growing right outside his bedroom window.
  64. Christopher mouth watered at the sight of it, but he
  65. knew he mustn't eat it or let anyone else eat
  66. it. Not if it was the last dandelion in town.
  67. It might even be the last dandelion in the whole
  68. world. He thought hard on decided.
  69. Hmm. What he's going to dio.
  70. He went to the library.
  71. He borrowed a book called Everything You Need to Know
  72. About Dandelions on He read it very carefully indeed.
  73. He found a little clash to protect the dandelion.
  74. You can see here there's the clash.
  75. Okay. Covering up the dandelion, you often see if you
  76. go to a very fancy restaurant.
  77. They sometimes cover the food with a clash and then
  78. reveal it.
  79. So he's put the clash over it too protective on
  80. every day.
  81. He watered it and picked off the bugs every day.
  82. He was very good about not taking even the tiniest
  83. nibble from a leaf he waited on.
  84. Dhe waited on, waited until the dandy lion had grown
  85. the most beautiful white head of seeds he had ever
  86. seen. Very gently.
  87. He picked that dandy lion, and he carried it all
  88. the way up Daisy Chain Hill.
  89. When he reached the top, he had just enough puff
  90. to take a deep breath, and he blew the seeds
  91. and filled the air with them.
  92. The seeds landed all over Danville.
  93. At first, nobody noticed, but soon new plants started to
  94. sprout fresh leaves on.
  95. In no time, it all the all of Dan DeVille
  96. was filled with the happy sound of munching once more.
  97. As for Christopher, he still loves playing football.
  98. But now there's something he loves just a ZX, much
  99. as eating dandelions.
  100. Christopher loves growing them.
  101. So in my story there, because of the guinea pigs
  102. have eaten all the dandelions.
  103. They hadn't thought about caring for their environment to make
  104. sure that there was enough food for them there for
  105. the future on Christopher.
  106. There he learned that that's what he needed to do.
  107. But more importantly, I think is well, he found enjoyment
  108. from looking after the environment and caring for it.
  109. It's clear that he loves the place he lives.
  110. Andi loves dandelions.
  111. But what a great thing to do for everybody.
  112. No thinking about our school environments.
  113. What could well do.
  114. What could you do to care for our world?
  115. Our little world at school?
  116. I'm gonna flick onto my last slide, actually, because I
  117. put here little things make a big difference.
  118. One of the little things that I expect everybody to
  119. do is put their litter in the bin.
  120. Okay, that's a really easy thing to make sure that
  121. our environment is clean and tidy.
  122. Um, from any rubbish.
  123. On Friday night after school, I picked up four wrappers
  124. off the playground and that was just on the little
  125. bit I walked on.
  126. There are two bins out there, so make sure that
  127. those things go in.
  128. Oh, it's a really, really easy thing to dio outside
  129. of school.
  130. I wonder what you could do to help the environment.
  131. Okay, I'm going to think some more this week about
  132. our value of loving because There's all sorts of things
  133. we can love and all sorts of ways We can
  134. make a really positive contribution by showing our love.
  135. So I'm just going to finish with a very short
  136. prayer. So if you'd like to listen carefully and you
  137. can join him at the end by saying arm and
  138. if you agree, Yeah.
  139. Dear God, help us to remember the wonderful world that
  140. we live in the plants that we love.
  141. The wind that keeps us call the sunshine that brightens
  142. our days.
  143. Help us to remember how important this is to keep
  144. our environment happy and healthy are men okay?
  145. Thank you for listening.
  146. I'm not sure if you have a loving assembly tomorrow.
  147. I'm waiting for, um assembly on harvest from the archway
  148. Trust to come through.
  149. So I shall share that with you at some point
  150. this week to Okay, Bye bye.
  151. For now.
