00:01 - 00:03
Hi everyone in Escanaba hospice laura masher to talk to
00:03 - 00:06
you about your patient experience scores for the month of
00:07 - 00:07
june. Let's have a look.
00:09 - 00:11
100%. Yeah.
00:11 - 00:11
Good job.
00:12 - 00:17
Everyone your targets 88.23 You'll see that you've just, you
00:17 - 00:19
went down in March, you had a, you know, a
00:19 - 00:22
little drop their um but you pulled yourself out of
00:22 - 00:23
it, look at that.
00:23 - 00:27
You know, you slowly climbed back up, made that success
00:27 - 00:30
happened. So congratulations on that great, great work.
00:31 - 00:33
Um The goal is to be consistent.
00:34 - 00:36
So we want to just keep doing things consistently and
00:37 - 00:39
there is a guarantee that that will stay up there
00:40 - 00:41
if if you can do everything.
00:41 - 00:44
Um The same way, you know, it's working so great
00:45 - 00:47
work. Everyone here are the things that have improved since
00:47 - 00:48
last month.
00:48 - 00:51
Get as much help with pain as needed, giving confusing
00:52 - 00:53
information about care.
00:54 - 00:56
Um an emotional support after death.
00:56 - 01:01
Those have all increased things that have decreased help with
01:01 - 01:05
trouble with constipation, dropped down, Listen carefully about care problems,
01:06 - 01:07
help as soon as needed.
01:07 - 01:11
Get help for trouble breathing and kept informed about care.
01:11 - 01:14
So um we're going to take a look at some
01:14 - 01:15
different things to work on.
01:16 - 01:18
You definitely want to keep those things in mind um
01:19 - 01:20
to touch on as well.
01:21 - 01:23
So priority focus area.
01:23 - 01:25
These are the areas we've talked about and how we're
01:26 - 01:31
going to really tackle um these specific um questions and
01:32 - 01:36
um tactics around them because these are most important to
01:36 - 01:37
our families and patients.
01:38 - 01:40
So we definitely want they will make the greatest impact
01:41 - 01:44
and we want to keep you guys, you know, at
01:44 - 01:47
that 100% we want everything to stay there um to
01:47 - 01:48
show the great work that you're doing.
01:48 - 01:52
So. Um I did include a little quote from Maya
01:53 - 01:56
Angelo that says the quality of strength lined with tenderness
01:57 - 02:00
is an unbeatable combination and I have to say I
02:00 - 02:03
agree with that completely um that you guys have a
02:03 - 02:07
lot of strength um and I know tenderness and so
02:08 - 02:10
that is showing the success you're you're achieving.
02:11 - 02:14
But the top three focus areas listen carefully to me,
02:15 - 02:17
help as soon as needed and info on when to
02:18 - 02:22
give pain meds are all important to Escanaba hospice patients
02:23 - 02:23
and families.
02:23 - 02:26
So we definitely want to follow up with that and
02:26 - 02:30
um and look into that further and really do well
02:30 - 02:32
in those areas um consistently.
02:33 - 02:35
So help as soon as needed, that's what we're gonna
02:35 - 02:36
focus on this month.
02:37 - 02:41
You want to set an expectation upon admission uh that
02:41 - 02:44
a member of our agency can be reached 24/7 for
02:44 - 02:48
any questions or concerns and upon admission share how long
02:48 - 02:49
it will take to resolve that problem.
02:50 - 02:52
You know, always give a guesstimate or an understanding of
02:52 - 02:55
process um, for their requests and needs.
02:55 - 02:58
You know, we don't want to set an expectation that
02:58 - 03:02
we will be immediately there, we will immediately answer.
03:03 - 03:04
You know, we want them to know, you know, we
03:05 - 03:07
have, you know, at night maybe we have a smaller
03:08 - 03:10
staff answering the phone so it might take a few
03:10 - 03:12
minutes, but we will um, they are important to us.
03:13 - 03:17
We'll make sure that we, uh, um, take care of
03:17 - 03:20
their problem as soon as possible, maintain a calm pace
03:20 - 03:24
and an empathic tone when speaking with patients and families.
03:24 - 03:28
And that just means just really a kind tone that
03:28 - 03:31
you care showing empathy, patients and families need to feel
03:32 - 03:34
they're valued individually and their calls are important.
03:35 - 03:37
So it's always good to state that too.
03:37 - 03:39
Your call is really important to us and we want
03:39 - 03:41
to make sure we're providing everything you need.
03:42 - 03:45
Um so the situation is viewed as non emergent in
03:45 - 03:47
the eyes of the office but it's still an emergency
03:48 - 03:48
to the patient and family.
03:49 - 03:52
So explain to them how their situation will be handled
03:53 - 03:56
and why walk alongside that patient family and offering support
03:58 - 04:02
if appropriate, offer video visits as an additional method of
04:02 - 04:05
patient care if this allows our team to lay eyes
04:05 - 04:08
on the patient and offers assistance in a timely manner.
04:08 - 04:11
So really we we really do need to harness our
04:12 - 04:12
virtual abilities.
04:13 - 04:16
Um you know maybe they live an hour out and
04:16 - 04:19
it's going to take some time maybe checking in on
04:19 - 04:21
a virtual visit, being able to lay eyes on the
04:21 - 04:26
patient prior to driving there to make sure that that
04:26 - 04:26
is necessary.
04:27 - 04:30
Um but also to help them feel reassured that someone
04:31 - 04:34
is checking in and that they have someone on the
04:34 - 04:35
other end to help.
04:37 - 04:41
So comments last but not least so our hospice team
04:41 - 04:45
was so compassionate and caring, gave advice when needed, made
04:45 - 04:50
suggestions. Sad, it was our entire family, sad as it
04:50 - 04:53
was. Our entire family is comforted by them now their
04:53 - 04:56
knowledge and care given to our family and our family
04:56 - 04:59
member. They treated us like family and we felt they
04:59 - 05:01
were members of our family.
05:01 - 05:01
How wonderful!
05:02 - 05:04
What a what a that is just such a great
05:05 - 05:07
comment. Um My wife passed away.
05:08 - 05:09
The hospice team came over.
05:09 - 05:13
The best advice we we got was if anything happened
05:13 - 05:15
to call them immediately and they would take over which
05:15 - 05:15
they did.
05:16 - 05:18
They handled everything without them.
05:18 - 05:19
I don't know what we would have done.
05:19 - 05:20
God bless hospice.
05:21 - 05:22
So wonderful, wonderful.
05:23 - 05:25
Um and I am amazed with hospice.
05:26 - 05:27
Excellent group of people.
05:27 - 05:29
You guys should feel so proud when you hear those
05:30 - 05:33
comments. You have made such an impact in someone's life
05:33 - 05:34
and you do that every day.
05:34 - 05:37
So uh congratulations on 100%.
05:38 - 05:39
I know it's it's hard work.
05:40 - 05:44
Um but that consistency using these tactics is really gonna
05:44 - 05:47
help and I want to thank you for hearing me
05:47 - 05:50
and listening to what I have to share and how
05:51 - 05:53
I can better assist and help support you to um
05:54 - 05:56
please reach out if you have any questions concerns.
05:57 - 05:59
Um But thank you so much and I look forward
05:59 - 06:00
to talking to you all next month.
06:01 - 06:01
Thanks a lot.
