  1. Hey, how's it going?
  2. It's J King also known as jake Jacob King.
  3. But uh I am here to do my first journal
  4. entry for risk management And I'm here to answer the
  5. question. Has your place of employment undertaking a pandemic risk
  6. assessment. So let's dive in, take a look.
  7. So I work for door dash which if you're not
  8. familiar with it is a food delivery service for places
  9. that otherwise wouldn't deliver food such as Taco bell or
  10. chick fil a.
  11. To places that yeah, not like they're not like a
  12. pizza hut or something that will you order online and
  13. delivered to you.
  14. So it's a third party for the restaurant and the
  15. customer. So that being said I deal with a lot
  16. of people for just handling a single order And that
  17. means that some of the risks that they identified were
  18. easy transmission of COVID-19.
  19. So some of the things that they did to prevent
  20. The spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the
  21. customer. The restaurant owner and the delivery driver where they
  22. required. And of course this falls along the lines of
  23. just state and city regulations as well.
  24. But they made sure that um customers if they are
  25. handing the bag if I am handing the bag to
  26. a customer that they have to where I'm asked as
  27. well. And if I'm running into a restaurant, I have
  28. to wear a mask.
  29. But even if door dash didn't require at the state
  30. and the city governments do.
  31. So that was one of the first measurements that they
  32. put in the lines that hey you got to do
  33. this. And so we all abide about it.
  34. We had no problem.
  35. I had no issue with that.
  36. So another risk that the company of doordash just took
  37. into consideration was how close we get to people.
  38. So like if I'm in a restaurant, let's say, and
  39. I'm picking up some chick fil a and there's another
  40. door that like they have set stickers on the ground.
  41. Say stand here, you're waiting for an order.
  42. Boom done, stand there, grab it from this counter.
  43. You got it right there.
  44. They made sure to include proper social distancing to keep
  45. us all spread out.
  46. So we don't have to, you know, and of course
  47. that goes along with the mask.
  48. So that's per, it's, I think it's a very great
  49. safety measures that they took just to even identify that
  50. hey, there's a risk here.
  51. Let's try to avoid it and keep as many people
  52. in business as possible.
  53. Another option that doordash did really well is they included
  54. a drop like leave at my door option.
  55. So if you're, if you're sitting at home and you
  56. order some food and you don't want to meet the
  57. driver face to face, you can select, hey, leave it
  58. at my door, leaving next to the plant by the
  59. door and it's super convenient that they did that because
  60. it really keeps the business operating well.
  61. You know, if I somehow contracted Covid 19 and I'm
  62. handing the order to the customer that that's just a
  63. risk we didn't want to take.
  64. So I'm glad that they put that in place as
  65. well. And then for question two, there's no specific issues
  66. that no immediate issues that I don't think you need
  67. to know about.
  68. I worked door dash as I said earlier so that
  69. you run on your own time on that you pick
  70. your own hours.
  71. So yeah, it'll be pretty easy to work and then
  72. just build my homework around that or do my homework
  73. and then build work around that vice versa.
  74. But yeah, no full time job yet.
  75. Um Still working door dash to pay for my school.
  76. Yeah.
