00:01 - 00:01
Hello, everyone.
00:01 - 00:04
Today I would like to do my presentation on massage
00:04 - 00:08
therapy in essential oils and how they can aid in
00:08 - 00:13
the treatment and prevention of stress, most importantly, the physical
00:13 - 00:15
reaction that stress has on the body.
00:16 - 00:19
So to jump into the physical reaction that we see
00:19 - 00:22
most often in stress, I think that I need to
00:22 - 00:23
start by giving a little background.
00:24 - 00:29
So typically the body produces a stress hormone when we
00:29 - 00:31
see a lot of stress happening.
00:32 - 00:36
So when quarters all is released in the body, the
00:36 - 00:40
fragile sites that are in their tissue, which typically just
00:40 - 00:43
absorb all the toxins that we received from the air
00:43 - 00:45
or toxins that we ingest by foods that were eating
00:46 - 00:50
tends to trying to absorb the court is off.
00:51 - 00:53
When this happens, the brain, it sends a message to
00:54 - 00:57
the brain stating that there is a large area in
00:57 - 00:59
the body that has 40 but is holding a lot
00:59 - 01:00
of toxins.
01:00 - 01:04
So then the body begins to release cytokines and cytokines,
01:05 - 01:05
or pro inflammatory.
01:06 - 01:09
So they're gonna inflame the area trying to fight off
01:09 - 01:11
the toxins and just disappeared them.
01:12 - 01:17
Now, when this happens, you see a struggle and are
01:17 - 01:20
deep muscle tissue, so our muscle tissue was covered by
01:20 - 01:23
fashion, and what tends to happen is our muscle tissue
01:23 - 01:28
starts to make a G type shape and get twisted
01:28 - 01:31
and knotted within itself within the fashion.
01:32 - 01:34
And that's what creates knots in our neck and her
01:34 - 01:37
back in our arms and our thighs wherever you tend
01:37 - 01:37
to hold your stress.
01:38 - 01:39
That is what's create eating.
01:39 - 01:43
Those not so here, have added a picture so you
01:43 - 01:45
can see a little more clearly of what tends to
01:46 - 01:50
happen when the muscles begin to not in spasm and
01:50 - 01:51
cause the pain and tension.
01:52 - 01:55
This leads to a lack of oxygen and an extreme
01:56 - 01:58
lack of blood flow within the muscle, which could leave
01:58 - 02:00
it very stagnant in uncomfortable.
02:03 - 02:07
So now I would like to discuss shiatsu massage.
02:07 - 02:10
This is a massage therapy that can really help and
02:10 - 02:14
aid in the relaxing and the releasing of the pain
02:14 - 02:17
and these muscles and the toxins that are stored within
02:17 - 02:22
that so shocks you is a technique that involves manual
02:22 - 02:26
pressure and that is applying to a specific point on
02:26 - 02:28
the body wherever you are trying to relieve the pain
02:29 - 02:31
or the tension that you're feeling, and here's a picture
02:32 - 02:34
just to go into a little bit of detail.
02:35 - 02:38
These are the different types of massage techniques that they
02:38 - 02:39
tend to use with.
02:39 - 02:41
Such therapists tend to use when applying shots.
02:42 - 02:45
Who and what you can see is that shots, who
02:46 - 02:50
is a lot of consistent small motions, almost like vibrations.
02:51 - 02:53
So you're gonna see a lot of rhythm rolling or
02:54 - 02:58
a lot of needing a lot of deep massaging to
02:58 - 03:00
try to really break up the not and break up
03:00 - 03:05
those toxins, and that leads me to the raindrop therapy
03:05 - 03:10
massage. Now this massage can be called many different things
03:10 - 03:14
at many different massage therapy offices here in town, at
03:14 - 03:18
my local massage therapists, acupuncture works, it's called the Rain
03:18 - 03:22
Job Therapy, Massage and, essentially, what The Ranger Up Therapy
03:23 - 03:28
is a combination of aromatherapy massage techniques, essential oil reflexology.
03:29 - 03:32
And it embodies all these massages just to give you
03:33 - 03:38
the top level of reduced pain and reduce tension in
03:38 - 03:38
your muscles.
03:39 - 03:42
So here I've added a picture of the foot reflexology
03:43 - 03:46
chart, and essentially, what this is is at the bottom
03:47 - 03:47
of everyone's feet.
03:48 - 03:51
We all have pressure points, and these pressure points are
03:51 - 03:55
connected to other places within the body, and what tends
03:55 - 03:58
to happen is if you notice your having headache or
03:58 - 04:01
you notice you're having lower back pain or neck pain,
04:02 - 04:05
you should be able to locate the area on the
04:05 - 04:07
bottom of your foot and give it a really nice
04:07 - 04:10
massage. And that should ease the pain that you might
04:10 - 04:11
be feeling elsewhere within your body.
04:13 - 04:15
Now this is very important when it comes to the
04:16 - 04:19
raindrop therapy massage, because what they tend to do is
04:19 - 04:22
they apply essential oils down the spine of your back
04:22 - 04:24
and to the bottoms of your feet, and they use
04:25 - 04:28
the essential oils while they're aiding you in a massage.
04:29 - 04:31
So what tends to happen is not only are you
04:32 - 04:35
relieving the pain from the area off of the pressure
04:35 - 04:38
point, but you're also relieving the pain from the area
04:38 - 04:42
with Theis and oils with the aromatherapy and massage technique.
04:44 - 04:47
Now this leads me to discuss essential oils.
04:48 - 04:51
There are many essential oils that have all kinds of
04:51 - 04:53
amazing effects on the body, but a few that I'd
04:54 - 04:57
like to touch one or lavender lavender is one that
04:57 - 05:00
really calms the body and relaxes you, and it even
05:00 - 05:02
at times can put people in a state of tiredness
05:03 - 05:03
or sleepiness.
05:05 - 05:08
Eucalyptus oil is an amazing, essential oil that has a
05:08 - 05:12
cooling effect on the muscles, so this really reduces any
05:12 - 05:14
type of pain or information that you may be feeling.
05:15 - 05:18
Camel is also an oil that really helps reduce playing
05:19 - 05:22
an information, but mostly it reduces muscle spasms.
05:22 - 05:24
And that's very important when you're getting a massage.
05:25 - 05:27
Because if it's your first massage, a lot of times
05:28 - 05:30
people tend to be tense, or if it's an area
05:30 - 05:34
with extreme, it's amount of pain, then it will be
05:34 - 05:34
a very tense.
05:35 - 05:38
When someone is massaging it, you'll tense up or you'll
05:38 - 05:40
feel your muscles spasm me.
05:40 - 05:43
And it's very important to utilize camel in that so
05:43 - 05:47
that you can aid in reducing the pain from the
05:47 - 05:49
massage, because you already you're in pain from the stress.
05:50 - 05:51
You don't want to add any more paint on top
05:51 - 05:52
of that from the massage.
05:54 - 05:58
Lastly, sandalwood is an amazing, essential oil that will aid
05:58 - 06:00
and reducing muscle spasms and inflammation.
06:01 - 06:04
Santa. What is one that you can put on and
06:04 - 06:07
massage use a little while and you'll already see a
06:07 - 06:10
difference. So here I have added a charge of essential
06:10 - 06:13
oils, and they're just roller blends so you can go
06:13 - 06:17
to your local for admires, warmer any store and buy
06:17 - 06:20
any of these essential oils and blend them to your
06:20 - 06:24
liking. These air suggested blend ings for any time that
06:24 - 06:29
you might need to feel less pain, calm, find balance
06:30 - 06:32
or float away.
06:33 - 06:36
Or even if you're feeling any anxiety and nervousness.
06:39 - 06:41
So now this leads me to duration and consistency.
06:43 - 06:44
It is very important.
06:44 - 06:46
But if you're going to use massage therapy as a
06:47 - 06:50
treatment and more important, if you're gonna use as a
06:50 - 06:52
prevention technique, you moved to be consistent.
06:53 - 06:57
So massage therapy for prevention you can pretty much there
06:57 - 06:58
at any time that you would like.
06:59 - 07:00
You don't have to go very often.
07:01 - 07:03
It's recommended that you go at least once a week,
07:04 - 07:06
but if you're using it as a treatment therapy and
07:06 - 07:08
you're seeing that you have a lot of knots around
07:09 - 07:11
your neck area or your lower back or anywhere that
07:11 - 07:14
can really cause you lots of pain if you have
07:14 - 07:16
it around your neck, that's something to be very mindful.
07:17 - 07:20
of because that can mess up any of your neck
07:20 - 07:23
disk, and it can cause you to not be able
07:23 - 07:26
to rotate your net properly to not be able to
07:26 - 07:27
do a lot of Dealey activities.
07:28 - 07:30
The otherwise you would be able to dio.
07:31 - 07:33
If that is the case, then you need Teoh.
07:34 - 07:36
Start seeing a massage therapist a little more often, and
07:37 - 07:40
what they recommend is that you come for the first
07:40 - 07:40
couple weeks.
07:41 - 07:43
You come every single day, and that's just because if
07:44 - 07:45
you try to go once a week in the very
07:46 - 07:49
beginning, it gets hard because your muscles will see some
07:49 - 07:55
kind of release, some kind of pain relieving massage, and
07:55 - 07:58
they will be less inflammation ID and then seven days
07:58 - 08:02
your body's gonna produce more cortisol, and all these hormones
08:02 - 08:03
are going to start reacting.
08:03 - 08:06
You're going to be absorbing toxins, and it's just gonna
08:06 - 08:09
create another not within, but not that you already have.
08:10 - 08:12
Or it's gonna and just create more knots around the
08:12 - 08:13
surrounding area.
08:13 - 08:19
So it kind of dissipates or a kind of negates
08:20 - 08:21
the whole massage that you're having.
08:22 - 08:25
So you want to go as consistently as possible so
08:25 - 08:27
that you can see the results, and you can see
08:27 - 08:29
the change in what's happening now.
08:30 - 08:33
The duration of the massage is typically an hour and
08:33 - 08:36
1/2 but if you can't get to the massage therapists
08:36 - 08:38
every single day or you don't want to go on
08:39 - 08:40
a weekly basis where you don't want to go at
08:40 - 08:43
all, it is recommended that you must hodge your own
08:43 - 08:45
areas of your body 10 minutes every single day.
08:46 - 08:48
You do not have to do this with essential oils,
08:48 - 08:51
but like I said previously, you can get some oils
08:51 - 08:53
from your local store, their easily accessible.
08:54 - 08:57
So if you can go ahead and pick up, she's
08:58 - 09:00
we pick up some sandalwood or pick up some lavender,
09:02 - 09:05
really pick up some eucalyptus oil and just put a
09:05 - 09:08
few dabs in the area and really Miss Arginine and
09:08 - 09:08
you'll see some relief.
09:10 - 09:14
Now there are three scholarly articles that I've read.
09:14 - 09:19
Psychology adjustments, whose trust measuring following a massage therapy, a
09:19 - 09:24
review of the literature treatment effects of massage therapy and
09:24 - 09:32
depressed people and meta analysis quarters on decreases and serotonin
09:33 - 09:38
and dopamine increases following massage therapy, thes air, all amazing
09:38 - 09:41
peer reviewed articles and journals that you should very well
09:41 - 09:42
check out.
09:42 - 09:45
If you don't really understand the idea behind massage therapy
09:45 - 09:47
or you just don't think it might be for you
09:48 - 09:50
a little more research might help you make that decision.
09:52 - 09:56
Now all of these have stated that they see an
09:56 - 10:02
increase in mental health, physical health, pain, joint stiffness after
10:03 - 10:05
massage therapy and all of these clients.
10:06 - 10:09
I think that's something that's really important to know just
10:09 - 10:11
because there are many alternatives.
10:12 - 10:14
We're treating stress, and you always have to find the
10:14 - 10:15
best one for you.
10:15 - 10:17
So I think that doing a little extra research might
10:18 - 10:19
help. Thank you very much.
10:20 - 10:20
This is my presentation.
