  1. my memorial project is based on the death trains for
  2. many prisoners during the holocaust, the train car was the
  3. last time that they would be outside of a concentration
  4. camp. They knew that this train was going to lead
  5. them to the place that they would most likely die.
  6. Also, the conditions on the train were just the beginning
  7. of the torture to come.
  8. The trains are crowded and dirty prisoners were starved and
  9. forced to pee in buckets.
  10. Some prisoners died before they reached the camp at the
  11. end of the holocaust and an attempt to fight the
  12. liberation of concentration camps from opposing armies.
  13. The nazis put prisoners on these trains where diseases spread
  14. and money died right before the chance of freedom since
  15. I am not the best artist, I have added these
  16. pictures to inspire the movement.
  17. Overall it would be a replica of a train car
  18. from the holocaust on the door of the car, a
  19. video screen would play background information to inform visitors what
  20. the death trains were and the conditions prisoners were forced
  21. to encounter and the train was would be the names
  22. of holocaust victims.
  23. People could walk into the train cars where they were,
  24. would be able to see how small the car was
  25. for how many people were kept inside the car would
  26. be set up just like the one from the holocaust.
  27. When researching holocaust memorials, I did not find any that
  28. represented the death trains and felt it was of major
  29. importance in four perfect pebbles.
  30. The chapter on the family's time on the death train
  31. was very gruesome and was hard to imagine how horrible
  32. those train rides must have been for every prisoner.
  33. Although it is a simple design, I felt it can
  34. make an impact on those who may not know the
  35. harsh details of the holocaust while remembering all the innocent
  36. lives lost on those train rides.
