  1. as we know by now though, to be enough to
  2. find occupations and otros everyday activities that people do as
  3. individuals and families and with communities to occupy time and
  4. bring meaning and purpose to life.
  5. For instance, taking a bath is an activity of daily
  6. living that holds special meaning for me, bathing is seen
  7. by most to simply keep you clean.
  8. But for me it's a place that has meaning in
  9. my life, which plays a role in the form of
  10. an occupation.
  11. Forms refer to observable aspects with my own bathing.
  12. I use substrate such as strong arms to bathe and
  13. my legs to step inside and bend down to sit
  14. in the tub.
  15. This occupation takes place inside my bathroom at home, which
  16. is visible in the specter along with place being observable.
  17. Physical dimensions also come into factor.
  18. For instance, a bath requires soap, a tub water and
  19. much more, but you can also add candles and bubbles.
  20. There are also social dimensions such as the norm to
  21. bathe yourself frequently, so you do not smell in regards
  22. to function, occupations serve the purpose to promote health and
  23. well being for individuals along with this occupations are central
  24. to one's identity.
  25. Like I said earlier, taking a bath promotes my health
  26. and well being through keeping me clean, as I've mentioned
  27. before. Taking bath has significant meaning to me, which can
  28. also serve as a function in meetings of occupations emphasize
  29. the experience of the occupation are subjective and I personally
  30. find the meaning of taking a bath to be a
  31. method of relaxation.
  32. Taking my daily stresses away when considering the OT theories,
  33. mojo is the most widely used occupation based model.
  34. As a wilderness bagman state, 76% of occupational therapists make
  35. use of mojo in the practice, which is why I
  36. decided to apply it to this assignment.
  37. Yeah, so a violation refers to the individual's motivation and
  38. choice and ultimately, people have a desire of occupations and
  39. this is shaped by previous experiences in occupation of hiking.
  40. I have found myself feeling confident to go on longer
  41. hikes, which illustrates personal causation meaning my thoughts and feelings
  42. toward my ability.
  43. This guy's, my choice on what I decided to do
  44. which can be seen and how I decided to go
  45. on longer hikes based on how I make sense of
  46. my current hiking abilities From past hikes values play a
  47. role also meaning my beliefs about what is important to
  48. do. For example, my own life, I value my health
  49. and well being, which can be seen and how I
  50. make the time to hike a trail.
  51. This is a form of cardio that improves my blood
  52. pressure as well as increases my self esteem and interest
  53. refers to the pleasure from occupational engagement.
  54. For instance, as I exercise and hiking, I am feeling
  55. refreshed and joyful for what I'm doing.
  56. If I was not satisfied with hiking, I would go
  57. on fewer if any hiking trails.
  58. Habituation referred to the repeated ways of doing things and
  59. help people organize their actions into routines.
  60. And this is also shaped by habits and rolls and
  61. habits are learned way of doing things, which my occupations
  62. of hiking and lifting weights illustrate that exercising daily is
  63. a healthy habit of mine and I also play many
  64. roles in my life which refer to the cultural scripts
  65. for once identity.
  66. Such roles refer to being a dog, mom, a full
  67. time student and not.
  68. And performance capacity is important as well because it refers
  69. to underlining mental and physical abilities, experience and occupational performance.
  70. And my hope plays a role by paying attention to
  71. how people experience impairments such as how people physically feel
  72. and how they experience the world around them when they
  73. have such impairments.
  74. Although I am good and good health.
  75. If I was impaired, I might have a hard time
  76. walking a longer distance and this could frustrate me and
  77. could lead to depressive symptoms if this occupation of hiking
  78. was incapable of being completed.
  79. Mhm. Uh huh.
  80. And at the O.
  81. T. P.
  82. F. Emphasizes that occupations are central to a client's identity
  83. and Mojo has values and beliefs that aligned with client
  84. factors. For instance, my love for hiking and taking baths
  85. illustrates my value for self care and Mojo also can
  86. illustrate occupational skills that align with performance skills, an example
  87. of a performance skill that I'm using currently has heeds
  88. because I'm completing an assignment that was specified by another
  89. person. Lastly, Mojo has a rolls and habits that a
  90. line of performance patterns like I stated earlier, my daily
  91. health healthy habit is exercising regularly while my roles include
  92. being a full time student, dog, mom and aunt.
  93. And these examples demonstrate the person that I am one
  94. who values self care does what is expected of them.
  95. Also carrying out various roles in life.
  96. And occupations can also play a role in impacting people's
  97. lives in this chart should look very familiar to all
  98. of us.
  99. As discussed earlier.
  100. Taking a bath can result in improving one's health and
  101. wellness and baths have been discovered to make the blood
  102. flow and I personally complete this activity to make symptoms
  103. from illnesses such as a common cold, become less severe.
  104. Along with health and wellness baths can effect individuals well
  105. being by increasing one's self esteem.
  106. Personally, when I'm clean, I feel better about myself and
  107. have way more confidence.
  108. Taking a bath can also benefit quality of life because
  109. I feel physically refreshed after.
  110. Okay, yes, and occupations are also ever changing.
  111. It is natural for individuals to develop new one, such
  112. as in my case, I was influenced by a family
  113. member over the past year, one of my family members
  114. have developed this occupation for hiking and when I came
  115. home for thanksgiving, I started going on hikes with them
  116. and now considered to be one of my own occupations.
  117. In regards to a life course perspective, there are four
  118. interdependent factors that all falter circumstances and change our lives.
  119. For instance, we were on this program today, therefore we
  120. anticipated that we would all be graduating from college.
  121. However, an unanticipated change that we were forced to leave
  122. our college campus three months earlier than anticipated last year,
  123. and other factors at the societal level such as the
  124. covid pandemic.
  125. Lastly, there are also intersectional aspects that are based upon
  126. how events transact with personal context of the person.
  127. For instance, I came from a middle class family which
  128. influenced my pursuit of a master's degree instead of a
  129. Doctor of occupational therapy.
  130. Mm hmm mm.
  131. And interpersonal mechanisms can affect occupations as well.
  132. For example, in my occupation of lifting weights, I was
  133. not aware of how to use weights or machinery properly
  134. until a friend of mine let me watch her at
  135. the gym.
  136. And after illustrating peripheral participation through being an onlooker, I
  137. now consider lifting weights to be specific health management occupation
  138. of mine.
  139. Yeah. And occupations can also be affected by engaging with
  140. others. And in my personal occupation of volunteer work.
  141. I once had to build a ramp which can be
  142. seen in this picture and I was unaware of how
  143. to do such at first, but learned from this group.
  144. I now consider volunteer work to be an occupation of
  145. mine. I have also changed my understanding of the meaning
  146. of volunteering because I now realize how much I can
  147. change others lives through my experience of giving community member
  148. and accessible method of getting into his house.
  149. Yeah. And occupations can also be taught.
  150. For instance, when I was a freshman in high school,
  151. I tried out for the volleyball team without any previous
  152. experience and the team captain had decided to teach me
  153. the culture of volleyball, such as roles in vocabulary and
  154. after understanding this sport and now consider volleyball to be
  155. an occupation of mine.
  156. And I have also attached some references and one of
  157. which is an article on visual methods as a research
  158. mythologies.
