  1. Hi my name is Humira and I'll be doing the
  2. night stalker Ikea.
  3. Richard Ramirez.
  4. I do want to put out a trigger warning that
  5. this does talk about molestation and rape.
  6. Um Richard Ramirez was a serial killer, rapist and childhood
  7. doctor in the area of California, Even though his crimes
  8. only spend for about a year between the years of
  9. 1984 and 1985 When he was caught, he was charged
  10. on 13 counts of murder, five attempted murders, 11 sexual
  11. assault and 14 burglaries.
  12. Um The photo here, I do want to recommend.
  13. Its the book and a really good book.
  14. It holds a lot of information about Ramirez and also
  15. the netflix documentary about the night soccer holds a lot
  16. of information to um I do recommend reading and watching
  17. those And going into Ramirez's childhood.
  18. Ramirez was born in El Paso Texas into a family
  19. of seven, being the youngest out of five kids Mercedes,
  20. which is Ramirez's mother.
  21. While she was pregnant with Richard, she was working at
  22. a Tony LAMAs and the chemical fumes in the work
  23. area made the pregnancy extremely difficult for her.
  24. And this caused Ramirez to be born with temporal lobe
  25. epilepsy, resulting him to be kicked off the football team.
  26. And during high school, While the Americans growing up during
  27. his 10 years, his cousin returned from Vietnam and the
  28. stories and photos that he would tell Ramirez, he would
  29. show him graphic photos of Vietnamese women being killed, tortured
  30. and rape.
  31. Um and these talks and photos had a really big
  32. effect on Ramirez to the point that he found himself
  33. being sexually aroused by the thought of women being sexually
  34. assaulted and tortured.
  35. Later on when Ramirez was at his cousin's home, his
  36. cousin ended up murdering his wife in front of Ramirez,
  37. shooting her at a point blank range.
  38. And the drug intake in Ramirez's life started at a
  39. relatively young age, Even as young as 10 years old.
  40. So when he left El Paso Texas and moved to
  41. Kelly, his search for drugs, I feel like was the
  42. main leading cause um for his crimes because this is
  43. where he would break into people's apartments homes, still valuables
  44. to sell and make money to buy cocaine, heroin and
  45. Angel does, etcetera.
  46. Ramirez also has sadistic sexual fantasies, which in a similar
  47. matter when he first moved to California, he ended up
  48. committing his first breaking and rape.
  49. And this gave him this power rush that he felt
  50. power in having another person under his control.
  51. And this was also the first time where he overcame
  52. women using force to have sex with her and proceeding
  53. into his crimes.
  54. This is where his crimes were becoming relatively known by
  55. police the neighborhoods and detectives.
  56. So while Ramirez was on his killing spree, detectives had
  57. a really hard time trying to figure out Ramirez pattern
  58. with the counts of child abductions, various killing methods and
  59. works of killing.
  60. He would use a gun, a knife, he would use
  61. manual strangulation, ligature strangulation and used a blunt force trauma.
  62. Ramirez also had no precise target.
  63. He went after kids, young adults and even elderly and
  64. he also murdered both sexual orientations.
  65. One of the breaking murders that I picked was the
  66. dwells family home.
  67. This is where Ramirez broke into the device family's house
  68. and he ended up shooting the husband at a point
  69. blank range in the middle of the forehead in hopes
  70. of killing him instantly.
  71. Then Ramirez, Ramirez turned to the wife and he started
  72. to be raped and robbed the wife.
  73. Um, but Mr Duval's actually Mr Doyle's actually survived for
  74. a short period of time.
  75. He end up calling 911 and then ended up passing
  76. away after the call.
  77. So when detectives arrived to the dwells family home, they
  78. were exploring the crime scene and they realized that MS
  79. dwells the wife that she had thumb cuffs attached to
  80. her and also that her right thumb was bleeding profusely,
  81. which also indicated that in her attempts of trying to
  82. escape, she ended up ripping her right thumb off her
  83. hand. Um talking about his child abduction, Ramirez had a
  84. thing where he would kidnap Children and he would do
  85. sexual acts to them and then at the end he
  86. will let them go and police found it really weird
  87. and they were trying to really cracked down on why
  88. he did that.
  89. So anesthesia, which is one of the child survivors in
  90. the show, she actually talks about how she fell into
  91. the hands of the night Soccer.
  92. Um when she talked about how Ramirez opened her bedroom
  93. window and that she actually did not feel threatened by
  94. him. So she actually end up following him out and
  95. she went to the car with him and she talked
  96. about how Ramirez made it really relatively known that he
  97. had a gun in the car by making her open
  98. the glove box.
  99. So while driving he took her to one of his
  100. apartments and he told her to get into a duffel
  101. bag. So while arriving to the apartment, he carried her
  102. from the car to the apartment in a duffel bag
  103. and proceeded to do sexual molestation to anesthesia.
  104. And after he was done, he actually put her back
  105. in the duffel bag, put her back in the car
  106. and dumped her at a gas station.
  107. A video was supposed to play here, but I'm pretty
  108. sure, um, Professor, I'm gonna play it.
  109. Um, going into theories, I personally feel like as if
  110. the script theory really fits Ramirez's crimes.
  111. The script theory is a psychological theory which posted that
  112. human behavior largely falls into patterns called scripts because they
  113. function and you asleep to the way of a written
  114. script by providing a program of action.
  115. I feel as if the script theory fits Ramirez's crimes
  116. because it was commonly known that Ramirez would first, he
  117. was still a card drive to an area, pick a
  118. house in the area and proceed to break in rob
  119. assault and murder.
  120. So that's why I jimmy feels the descriptor.
  121. He does fit Ramirez because he followed a script of
  122. stealing, breaking in assault, murder than robbery.
  123. The second theory I chose was a modeling theory.
  124. This was created by Albert Bandiera.
  125. This theory explains the reasoning behind violent acts.
  126. Individuals learn aggressive behavior from people and enforced by the
  127. media and living environment.
  128. Such behavior is modeled by the learner.
  129. I found this theory to quietly fit Ramirez as well
  130. because as a child he was exposed to so much
  131. of that, it left a really big impact on him
  132. from his dad's anger issues from his cousin, showing him
  133. women getting raped and murdered.
  134. Um Ramirez witnessing the murder of his cousin in law.
  135. And also at a young age, he was taught how
  136. to shoot a gun and use a knife.
  137. Third theory, I pick with cycle an alec theory.
  138. Um This devised a psych into three functions.
  139. The It which is the unconscious source of primitive sexual
  140. dependency and aggressive impulses.
  141. Um the ego.
  142. This represents a sense of self and mm media mediates
  143. between realities of the moment and psych needs and the
  144. super ego subconsciously interjects societal mores setting standards to live
  145. by. Mm I also chose this theory for Richard Ramirez
  146. because I felt as if his it was so overpowering
  147. to the point that it overshadowed his super ego and
  148. his ego.
  149. Um Ramirez sexual fantasies were extremely intense.
  150. To the point that as if he never really stopped
  151. to think that to think himself as what he was
  152. doing was morality correct.
  153. Um also alongside he would break into people's houses, um,
  154. robbing homes for cash.
  155. It was a point that as if he had a
  156. desire and that he took what he could get no
  157. matter if someone was willing to give it up or
  158. not, his desires were extremely strong.
  159. To the point that he never had a conscience for
  160. it. Um that's relatively it for the night stalker.
  161. I just want to say thank you for listening and
  162. stay safe.
  163. Thank you
