00:00 - 00:01
Hi, you two.
00:01 - 00:01
I'm back.
00:02 - 00:04
It's Thursday and we're going to focusing on our last
00:05 - 00:07
writing session for a remote learning.
00:07 - 00:09
It's been such a long time since you've been at
00:09 - 00:11
school, but you've engaged in so much writing.
00:12 - 00:13
We're all so proud of the things that you've written.
00:14 - 00:17
And we can't wait to read this final part of
00:17 - 00:18
your adventure story.
00:19 - 00:21
So let's just recap what we did yesterday.
00:22 - 00:24
So you came up with this plan earlier in, um
00:25 - 00:25
was last week.
00:26 - 00:30
Now, um, yesterday we wrote down our opening and our
00:30 - 00:33
build up, and we described really clearly the settings that
00:34 - 00:36
we came up with were still some fabulous drama projects
00:37 - 00:37
a couple of days ago.
00:38 - 00:41
But today we're going to focus on the final three
00:42 - 00:43
parts of our story Mountain.
00:44 - 00:47
So we're gonna be focusing on the problem, which is
00:47 - 00:48
at the top of the mountain.
00:48 - 00:49
And as we come down, we're going to be focusing
00:50 - 00:52
on our resolution where grand comes to save the day,
00:53 - 00:55
and we're then going to look at our ending where
00:55 - 00:57
that magic key starts to glow and the Children return
00:57 - 00:59
home safely after that huge issue.
01:00 - 01:02
So again, um, it's sort of amazing stories.
01:03 - 01:08
Yesterday starts of some fabulous stories that you've written.
01:08 - 01:10
Make sure that you've got all of these different features
01:11 - 01:11
that you've got.
01:11 - 01:14
Adjectives, capital letters, full stops, injunctions.
01:15 - 01:19
You could use words like and but because so if
01:19 - 01:22
lots of different words to stretch out their sentences really
01:22 - 01:23
add some more detail into them.
01:25 - 01:27
We've seen some Children use speech marks, and you can
01:27 - 01:30
continue doing that today a great, great opportunity for, uh
01:31 - 01:34
to use speech today when those characters are experiencing that
01:34 - 01:35
big problem.
01:35 - 01:38
Perfect opportunity there, um when you when we use speech
01:39 - 01:42
and stories, quite often, writers would say things afterwards like
01:42 - 01:44
said before, said Chick.
01:45 - 01:46
But we know that said is really boring.
01:47 - 01:49
We don't really like using words like that, and we
01:49 - 01:49
can use far better.
01:50 - 01:53
You could say things like yelled Chip instead of said
01:54 - 01:58
You could say screamed, bellowed, Um, so lots and lots
01:58 - 01:59
of different opportunities there.
02:00 - 02:01
If you type in, if you get stuck and you
02:01 - 02:03
look looking for other ideas, you can type into Google.
02:04 - 02:08
Alternative words were said, or fund online thesaurus, and there'll
02:08 - 02:10
be plenty of things for you to use their You
02:11 - 02:14
could also use adverbs, which words that end in l
02:14 - 02:16
Y. You could say that the polar bear moved quickly
02:17 - 02:17
through the snow.
02:18 - 02:21
Um, the Children crept quietly through the cave.
02:22 - 02:25
There's plenty of adverbs you could use as well.
02:26 - 02:29
So going back to my story, this is my example.
02:30 - 02:33
Um, at this point of the story, I've got a
02:34 - 02:37
polar bear coming out of a big, eerie cave, and
02:37 - 02:39
the Children haven't noticed him creep out of there.
02:40 - 02:41
Um, and obviously, he's a big predator.
02:42 - 02:43
He's gonna pose a big risk to the Children.
02:45 - 02:46
Um, so I've got some sentence starts right here.
02:46 - 02:48
Okay, Let me see him.
02:48 - 02:49
Until you can read them with me.
02:50 - 02:55
The Children are having the most amazing time until and
02:55 - 02:56
again. That would be the part where it starts to
02:56 - 02:57
describe the polar bear.
02:58 - 03:00
And I'll explain how he's come out of his cave.
03:00 - 03:02
And again if you've gone with something different.
03:02 - 03:04
I've seen some lovely ideas about aliens.
03:05 - 03:07
I've seen some lovely, lovely ideas.
03:07 - 03:10
I read a wonderful story yesterday based on footballers.
03:11 - 03:14
Um, so again, you can use that sentence starts with
03:14 - 03:14
a good one.
03:15 - 03:20
It was cheering so loudly, he barely noticed that, and
03:20 - 03:22
again as a good example, there a good sentence started
03:23 - 03:23
that you could borrow or magpie.
03:24 - 03:27
You're more than welcome to use these creeping out from
03:28 - 03:30
the depths of the eerie dark cave again.
03:31 - 03:32
So I'm using my adjectives.
03:32 - 03:33
I'm describing that setting.
03:34 - 03:35
I've got some other ones here that you could use
03:35 - 03:36
as well.
03:36 - 03:38
Um, these are all rhetorical questions.
03:39 - 03:40
And again, I didn't mention that on my list of
03:40 - 03:41
things that you could use.
03:41 - 03:44
But again, if you fancied borrowing some of these, how
03:44 - 03:47
could the frightened Children escape safely again?
03:47 - 03:48
That's a rhetorical question.
03:48 - 03:52
I've also got the L Y word in their adverts.
03:53 - 03:55
Was this the end of the Children's magical adventures?
03:56 - 03:57
Who was going to save them now?
03:58 - 03:59
And if you want to use some speech as a
04:00 - 04:03
sentence starter, thinking about how our characters are going to
04:03 - 04:06
get out of that sticky problem, there's no hope screened,
04:07 - 04:09
Chip, Think, think, think.
04:10 - 04:12
And then that's the point where we start to write
04:13 - 04:15
about our resolution where Grant is gonna save the day,
04:15 - 04:16
so there's lots of ideas there.
04:16 - 04:17
I'm more than happy for you to make a pie
04:17 - 04:20
those, and to follow my ideas just to get you
04:20 - 04:24
started on your writing today, there's plenty for you to
04:24 - 04:25
get on with again.
04:26 - 04:26

04:33 - 04:36
home. Tomorrow we'll be doing our guided reading, and then
04:37 - 04:39
Monday we'll be back and I can't wait to start
04:39 - 04:41
reading some of the learning that you're doing in school.
04:41 - 04:44
It's not much longer to go only a few days
04:44 - 04:47
left. Keep pushing really hard to that end Goal.
04:48 - 04:50
Make sure you're enjoying your writing to you can get
04:50 - 04:53
silly or as weird or wonderful as you like, and
04:53 - 04:54
it always makes us laugh in school.
04:55 - 04:57
