00:02 - 00:02
Hello, folks.
00:03 - 00:04
Welcome back.
00:04 - 00:05
Happy Thursday.
00:06 - 00:06
I hope you're doing well.
00:07 - 00:08
Let's get the day started.
00:10 - 00:11
Alright, So I have a speech of the week today.
00:12 - 00:14
Um, this is just a fun little performance skills video
00:15 - 00:19
that's actually, uh, kind of presented from kids and little
00:19 - 00:20
kids. And it's, I think it's entertaining.
00:21 - 00:23
So it gives you really good pointers for how to
00:23 - 00:23
be a better presenter.
00:24 - 00:26
So be sure to watch it because you're presenting tomorrow,
00:26 - 00:29
so it's kind of makes sense for where we're doing
00:29 - 00:29
right now.
00:31 - 00:35
Eso today you're focusing on your speeches and editing the
00:35 - 00:36
presentation of your speech.
00:37 - 00:38
So we've already written these out.
00:38 - 00:39
Hopefully you've edited your speech.
00:40 - 00:40
Hopefully, it looks good.
00:41 - 00:42
You're feeling good about it.
00:42 - 00:43
And now what you're gonna do is you're going to
00:44 - 00:48
edit your speech and edit your performance and basically take
00:48 - 00:50
what was given to you yesterday during the mock speeches
00:50 - 00:52
and improve upon that.
00:53 - 00:55
So as you work on this, here's here's your words
00:56 - 01:00
there some recommendations that I would make when you are
01:00 - 01:03
video when you were practicing and preparing for your final
01:03 - 01:04
presentation tomorrow.
01:04 - 01:08
So some recommendations I have would be to videotape yourself
01:08 - 01:09
on dhe, Then watch it.
01:10 - 01:12
It's kind of painful to do it, but it's really
01:12 - 01:14
informative. And it really helps you figure out what your
01:15 - 01:18
little ticks are and what kind of tendencies you have
01:19 - 01:21
when you're presenting and how to improve upon that.
01:21 - 01:24
And also working on just talking in front of a
01:24 - 01:25
mirror, you could see your face.
01:25 - 01:28
You can, uh, kind of analyze how you're speaking, those
01:29 - 01:31
air recommendations that I would make that really can help
01:31 - 01:32
you in your final presentation.
01:33 - 01:35
Other things to work on our thio.
01:36 - 01:37
Slow down, you're speaking.
01:38 - 01:40
Remember that if you're speaking too quickly, we don't understand
01:41 - 01:43
what you're saying and we're hearing the words that you're
01:43 - 01:43
speaking first.
01:44 - 01:45
We're we've never heard these before.
01:46 - 01:47
We've never heard your speech before.
01:47 - 01:49
You are familiar with it, but we're not.
01:49 - 01:52
So it's important to slow down and really enunciate, So
01:53 - 01:55
use your words and speak very clearly.
01:56 - 01:57
Also use vocal variety.
01:57 - 02:00
So again, we've talked about vocal variety in this class
02:00 - 02:00
many times.
02:01 - 02:05
But having variety in your voice being high being though,
02:06 - 02:10
um, slowing down, speeding up, being loud, being soft, making
02:10 - 02:13
your voice interesting so that we want to continue Thio
02:13 - 02:16
listen. And lastly, not just reading off of the page,
02:16 - 02:19
not just getting up there in during our zoom class
02:19 - 02:22
and reading straight off of the speech, but being animated,
02:22 - 02:25
um, looking at the camera, things like that.
02:25 - 02:27
So those were just some things to work on as
02:27 - 02:27
you continue.
02:29 - 02:31
And then tomorrow we're going to be presenting our final
02:31 - 02:33
speeches in class and I'm super excited.
02:33 - 02:34
Thio hear that?
02:37 - 02:37
As usual.
02:37 - 02:38
If you have any questions, please let me know.
02:39 - 02:42
But your homework today, it's just to make sure your
02:42 - 02:43
speech is looking good for tomorrow.
02:46 - 02:47
Other than that, have a great day.
02:48 - 02:48
I'll see you later.
