  1. good mornings.
  2. Parents and scholars.
  3. This is Miss Brown.
  4. Come to you with our math lessons for this week.
  5. We are in week four of our virtual learning experience.
  6. The strong Go ahead and jump into it.
  7. All right.
  8. So what are we doing today?
  9. Today will be going over properties of multiplication and properties
  10. of division.
  11. So what?
  12. ISS multiplication multiplication is simply repeated addition of that same
  13. number. The only difference is the sign that is used
  14. as far as the order of Operation Division is the
  15. process of putting numbers into equal or unequal groups.
  16. So let's talk about these properties.
  17. So for our first set of properties and multiplication, we
  18. have community of property.
  19. We have associative property, identity property, zero property and distributive
  20. property for division.
  21. We have the property of zero and the property of
  22. one. And don't you worry how?
  23. Go back and make sure that I explain what each
  24. of those are.
  25. So let's go ahead and get into it.
  26. What is community property of multiplication?
  27. Community property of multiplication is when you can change the
  28. order of the numbers that are being multiplied and still
  29. get the same answer.
  30. So again, you can change the order of the numbers
  31. that are being multiplied and get the same answer.
  32. So let's take these examples.
  33. For our first example, we have five times six equals
  34. six times five community property says that we can change
  35. the order of these numbers and get the same answer.
  36. So we know that five times six is 30.
  37. If we switch the orders of the number around and
  38. make the six first at the five second, we still
  39. get the same answer of 30 for our example.
  40. Number 27 times Now, Community Property says that we can
  41. have these numbers in any order and still get the
  42. same answer.
  43. So seven times nine is 63 9 times seven is
  44. still 63.
  45. In our last example, one times five equals five times
  46. one. Both had the same answer of five.
  47. Our second property is going to be associative property.
  48. Associative Property says that you could group tour or more
  49. numbers in any order and still end up with the
  50. same answer.
  51. So associative property.
  52. Let's look at our first example.
  53. We have three times two times more associative property says
  54. that if we have two or more numbers they can
  55. be order in any way and still get the same
  56. answer. So three times two is six times one is
  57. six. So one times three is three times to with
  58. steel equal six example number 25 times four times six
  59. equals four times six times five five times four equals
  60. 20 20 times six is 1 20 saying with four
  61. times six equals 64.
  62. I'm sorry.
  63. Four times six equals 24 24 times five equals 1
  64. 20 For our next property.
  65. We have identity property of multiplication, identity property of multiplication
  66. stays that if you multiply a number times one then
  67. that is your answer.
  68. That number is your answer.
  69. So again, any number multiplied by one is that number
  70. as the answer.
  71. So one times four it was for seven.
  72. I'm sorry.
  73. 1 700 times one equals 700 one times 50 equals
  74. 50. Any number being multiplied by one equal That number.
  75. Our next property coming up is gonna be property of
  76. zero for multiplication.
  77. Property of zero simply states that any number multiplied by
  78. zero. The answer will always be zero.
  79. So whether you have 90 time.
  80. 08 Time.
  81. 01 million times 0 500,000 times zero Any number multiplied
  82. by zero will always equal zero, so our next property
  83. is going to be property of zero for division.
  84. Similar to multiplication.
  85. Any number divided by zero.
  86. The answer will be zero.
  87. So 90 divided by 008 divided by zero is zero.
  88. Any number that is divided by zero is zero, and
  89. next properties want to be the property of one for
  90. division, similar to the property of one for multiplication.
  91. Any number divided by one is that number four, divided
  92. by warnings.
  93. 4 700 divided by 1 to 701 divided by 50
  94. is 50 Now.
  95. There are a couple of things that I would like
  96. to go over also, which are going to be some
  97. vocabulary words that go with this presentation.
  98. Simple, carefully words that I would like to go over
  99. our what a factor is a factor is a number
  100. being multiplied by another number Again.
  101. A factor is any number being multiplied by another number.
  102. A product is the answer or a multiplication equation.
  103. A product is the answer to a multiple occasion equation.
  104. So if I have one times five equals by on
  105. the left hand of my equal sign, I have one
  106. time spy.
  107. One is a factor and five is a factor.
  108. Then I have my equal sign into the right of
  109. the equal sign.
  110. I have my product, which is spy.
  111. So one is a factor.
  112. Times five is effective equals my product of five for
  113. dividing in division.
  114. That answer and a division problem is called a quotient.
  115. The answer and a division problem is caught a quotient.
  116. So if I have the numbers six and three six,
  117. divided by three gives me my answer of two.
  118. Two would be Consider my quotient.
  119. All right, parents and scholar.
  120. So that does conclude our math lesson for this week.
  121. Just simply going over properties of division and multiplication or
  122. our work of Simon.
  123. You can all get to use a test prep, complete
  124. the assignment title math April 20th and you can also
  125. excess class.
  126. Does Joe Google classroom for the hard copy work sheet
  127. with the hard copy work?
  128. She you can take a picture of it.
  129. It's or scan it and email it to me.
  130. My email can be found on the class story of
  131. class. Don't joke if there are any additional questions you
  132. on how to reach me.
  133. See you next week.
