  1. Yeah. Welcome to mostly Martin's here.
  2. The benefits of being an octopus by and Brandon sounds
  3. kind of silly, but this is a great story.
  4. You guys, um, it's told from the point of view
  5. of 1/7 grader named Zoe, Uh, this poor girl, she
  6. has her hands hold.
  7. She takes care of her much younger siblings after school
  8. every day while her mom works the night shift on
  9. dhe. They live with her mom's boyfriend in a really
  10. nice trailer.
  11. Better than when she was in before.
  12. And his name is Lenny.
  13. My two.
  14. Okay, so at school, Zoe is trying to stay with
  15. the radar, and she has only one friend.
  16. She's got her own issues, but they both have one
  17. thing in common.
  18. They're not like the rich kids.
  19. Okay, so she just wants to, like, lay low.
  20. Just wanna be noticed.
  21. Right? So she thinks it's much easier.
  22. If she could be an octopus, she'd have eight arms.
  23. You can multitask.
  24. She could have incredible camouflage to hide something she doesn't
  25. want and powerful protected defenses so she can protect herself.
  26. And she doesn't feel capable of doing on her own.
  27. So she wants to be an octopus, right?
  28. So unfortunately, she's not.
  29. She's not an octopus.
  30. She's not totally invisible.
  31. And one of her teachers, actually forcing her to join
  32. a debate club, totally not her style.
  33. So even though she resists participating, ultimately, her being in
  34. this debate club turns her perspective on all of her
  35. issues that she thinks she has.
  36. And she starts gaining courage and power and is willing
  37. to speak up to help her situation.
  38. So if you want a really powerful story, it's a
  39. very hopeful story about Zoey's transformation from this meek, shy
  40. little girl to someone who is very powerful and speaks
  41. her mind.
  42. So if you want a good book, check this one
  43. out today.
  44. Go holler at your library in.
  45. Say that I'm Destiny.
  46. Get your copy.
  47. Can't wait to see what you think.
  48. Happy reading
