00:01 - 00:01
Hi, everyone.
00:02 - 00:04
My name is just accordingly, and I am your eyes
00:05 - 00:08
succeed section leader Before a class begins, I wanted to
00:08 - 00:11
first welcome you to at the you and share a
00:11 - 00:11
little bit about myself.
00:13 - 00:16
So I am a staff member in the academic coaching
00:16 - 00:19
and career enhancement for student Success office.
00:21 - 00:24
That's a mouthful, so we just call it access for
00:24 - 00:27
Short. In this office, I leave the pure Academic Coaching
00:27 - 00:31
Program. This program is designed to support new students like
00:32 - 00:36
yourself and provide strategies, tools and guidance on how to
00:36 - 00:38
be successful in college review.
00:38 - 00:42
Academic coaches or packs for short are students who have
00:42 - 00:44
found their own success in college.
00:45 - 00:47
They come from a wide variety of back groans and
00:47 - 00:51
areas of study, so they recognize that there isn't a
00:51 - 00:54
one size fits all approach to being successful in college.
00:56 - 01:00
Pax commonly help students with time management, study skills and
01:00 - 01:03
test preparation all skills that I'm sure you want to
01:04 - 01:06
to develop and improve during your time at FAA you
01:07 - 01:10
they will work with students to uncover their strengths, discover
01:10 - 01:13
passions and set goals that will help them obtain their
01:13 - 01:15
own six asset at you.
01:16 - 01:19
Our Coaching Centre doesn't actually open until the fall semester,
01:20 - 01:22
so you'll have to wait a little bit longer to
01:22 - 01:22
meet the packs.
01:23 - 01:24
But don't worry.
01:24 - 01:26
You'll get a chance to develop some of those success
01:26 - 01:28
strategies in this course.
01:29 - 01:33
So a little bit more about me personally, I have
01:33 - 01:37
a bachelor's degree in psychology from Hanover College and a
01:37 - 01:40
master's degree in education from Defiance College.
01:41 - 01:43
I've been an FAA you for almost five years.
01:44 - 01:47
It's hard to believe and have worked with higher education
01:47 - 01:48
for almost eight years.
01:49 - 01:51
I am a native of Indiana.
01:52 - 01:54
Um, I grew up on the south side of Indianapolis,
01:55 - 01:58
So shout out to my fellow Hoosiers out there, um,
01:59 - 02:02
and before moving to Florida Island in Ohio over a
02:02 - 02:02
few years.
02:03 - 02:06
So being from the north, where it gets very cold
02:06 - 02:09
in the winter, I really enjoy living in South Florida
02:10 - 02:14
on beautiful year round warm weather that it offers us.
02:15 - 02:17
So how many of mine is being outdoors?
02:18 - 02:19
Any chance I can get?
02:20 - 02:24
Sometimes that involves paddleboarding and voting that most days it
02:24 - 02:27
just involves walking my dog, Hank who?
02:27 - 02:29
You can see the ground right here.
02:31 - 02:32
Eso that's a little bit about me.
02:32 - 02:34
I look forward to getting to know each of you
02:35 - 02:37
and encourage you to share a little bit about yourself
02:37 - 02:40
with me, but also with your peers on this course.
02:41 - 02:45
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions and
02:45 - 02:46
welcome to F A U.
